Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Bachelor of Technology and Masters of Technology, Dual Degree in Mathematics and Computing at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi. The faculty is highly qualified from top universities around the world. There are 2 "Minor" exams (between the semester) and 1 "Major" exam at the end. Toughness and grading depend on the professor.
Internships Opportunities
There are many kinds of internships offered. From research to corporate internships, you can sit for them all. All the domains are covered. From core (Nvidia, Intel for EE) to software development (Microsoft, TCS, etc.) to consulting (BCG, etc.), all opportunities are open. There are many partnerships with companies as well, which provide various opportunities. You can also opt for foreign exchange in the 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Many companies are flocking to the campus during the placement season each year. At the end of the pre-final year, students are eligible for internships and many get pre-placement offers. Circuital branches get placements mostly on Days 0,1,2. The placement cell also offers students the chance to work alongside the OCS team to better understand the process.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a Semester based fee structure with 1,12,000 tuition fees for every semester. Both need-based and merit-based Scholarships are available to students who can apply for them both before and after enrolling in college.
Campus Life
Rendezvous (pronounced Raun-de-voo) is the largest and most glamorous cultural fest in the whole of Northern India. The popularity is arguably due to the numerous celebrities gracing the stage at the end of each eventful day of the fest, in musical nights called Pronites.
Hostel Facilities
In-room we get standard lights and fans, a study and dressing table as per request, and 1 almirah. Rooms are single or double-sharing, and room changes every year. Ethernet facility and Wi-Fi are also provided. You can request for cleaning service whenever you want. The mess provides 3 meals and 1 snack in the evening.
Admission
I sat for the JEE Advanced exam and cleared it with AIR 340 in the GEN category. Next, I entered my ranking for various courses (at various IITs) in the JOSAA counseling. There are multiple rounds in JOSAA counseling, at the end of each of which, we are allowed to withdraw.
