Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

IIT Jammu is a relatively new institution having been established in 2016, it is part of the IIT system and is expected to maintain the high academic standards and reputation of the IITs. Students at IIT Jammu can expect to receive a challenging and rewarding academic experience with access to state-of-the-art faculties, cutting-edge research opportunities, and a supportive learning environment. The faculties here are very nice and cooperative they help the students very much with the research and the studies.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship opportunity available to IIT Jammu students varies depending on the interests and goals of individual students, as well as the needs of the industry partners. Some of the companies that have offered internships to IIT Jammu students in the past include Tata Steel, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, and many more.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements at college are satisfactory ie: not so good and not so bad. The students are eligible for placements from the 6th semester. Several companies visit the college for placements. One of them is Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Cognizant and many others companies. The Highest package was 40lacs the previous year. And it is going to increase in the upcoming years. Almost 85% students get placed in the college and bag a nice package.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hearing IIT Jammu is a bit high than the normal height for the first semester the institute fee is 1,40,000 and the hostel and mess fee is 40k for the first semester. But from the 2nd semester, the fees will decrease a bit. You can search for scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal. The fees of IIT Jammu are a main issue for me and the rest of the students.

The campus is designed to provide students with a supportive and engaging environment with a variety of clubs and activities to promote social interaction and personal development. Some of the clubs and organizations available at IIT Jammu include technical clubs for robotics, coding, and electronics, as well as cultural clubs for music, dance, and theatre. Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
