IIM Trichy

My course is a Post Graduate Program in Management Program (general). I wanted to have an understanding of all the fields and therefore I went for a General Program. The faculty in the college are highly experienced and qualified in their respective fields. The materials provided by them are exceptionally good. The faculty is extremely helpful and they guide you as and when required. The year is divided into 3 terms of almost 3 months. In each term, there is one mid and one end-term exam conducted. Other than that, students also have quizzes, projects and assignments as part of the marks component.

The process for this starts in September. Various companies like Samsung, Colgate - Palmolive, Titan, Adani, ABFRL, Bain & Co., McKinsey, JPMC, Wells Fargo, RBI, Gartner, etc. came to the campus with the highest stipend of 3.2 L and an average of 1 L for the students. It covers the fields of Finance, Sales & Marketing, Consulting, Analytics, etc. For Finals also almost the same companies come with an average of 18 LPA. The campus had a lot of students who had converted the PPOs. IIM Trichy has a record of 100% placement.

The fee for us was 1800000. It includes the hostel fee, mess fee, course material cost, etc. The mess food is not that good and therefore doesn't seem affordable. The hostels are in good condition but we live in double occupancy, unlike our senior batch.

The Annual Business and Cultural Fest of IIM Trichy is Dhruva. It is a national fest wherein students from all over the country participate in all types of academic and non-academic events. There are amazing options for Clubs and Committees both academic and non-academic in nature. During the hectic schedule, the CnCs help to get through the week. They all are student-run. The Learning and Resource Centre (LRC) is beautiful and well-equipped with all types of resources possible. The campus has modern-style classrooms with projectors, ACs, and plug points at each desk.

We live in double occupancy rooms. There are two cupboards in the room. AC has timing from 8 PM - 8 AM. It seems manageable as we have classes during half of our day. The mess quality and menu are not up to the mark. It is a residential program therefore, living in hostels is mandatory. You are not allowed to rent a PG.

Admission into the college like other B-schools starts with clearing the CAT exam with the mentioned cutoff both overall and sectional. Post that a Common Admission Process (CAP) is conducted by one of the new IIMs. For us, the process included the PI only. Suppose you are eligible for the process, the college contacts you via email. You then have to yourself registered on their portal and follow the further procedures. Any student who has at least done the under-graduation is applicable to sit for cat and then for the further process for all colleges.
