Remarks

Management is ok. People are from south, therefore many times there is a gap between the thinking and language differences as well. But eventually, management cares and work is done. There are rules which are not many times not god for the students but I think that is due to generation gap.

Entrance Preview

I gave most of the entrance examinations but not selected in most of them which provides admission in IITs or NITs. I gave UPTU and got 4100 rank which got be ECE branch in JSS. Although I had options of JP college in Noida too but because I am from not so rich family and UP govt provide scholarship to colleges affiliated to AKTU university, I joined JSS Noida.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is the same as taught in IITs but certainly not as per the industrial standards which is the basic problem in most of the colleges in India. We are taught out dated syllabus, and subjects like Biology, ecology and environment too. In total we are taught 52 subjects in 4 years of B.tech. Things can be really interesting to study but due to very poorly structured syllabus in AKTU, students generally loose interest. Although we have student coordinated clubs and societies in the college which are more beneficial in terms of learning than the university provided course curriculum particularly to me.

Internships Opportunities

College have contacts with few companies where in students get the intern after a selection process. But as this number is very less, most of the students apply through internshala or may be through their links in few companies. Also, there are students who don't even bother to get a intern, they simply prepare for GATE, CAT, GRE and present a fake photo shopped certificate at the time of presentation.

Placement Experience

3

There is a minimum percentage criteria and students who are eligible as per that criteria generally get the job. In a batch of 120 students 80-90 are eligible and nearly 70-80 are placed. Companies like Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Newgen, Unified Cloud, Kronos, Zia semiconductors, Samsung, Ericsson, Fibcom and many more. Salary package range from 2.5 lakh to 7 lakh per year.

College Events

3.5

Technical and cultural fest....it is not so big as compared to other college fest. But it is a great event to enjoy participate and also win cash prizes. All types are technical and cultural event are organised. Also, cool DJ night which is real fun are organised. Sports meet for about 3 days and it s big with most of the games included. People are selected for state competitions from this event. Our college management is from south therefore most of the south festivals are celebrated here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is about 1 Lakh all included with library and internet charges. Apart from this hostel fees of about 80000 is separate (varies every year usually increases) Girls get hostel certainly but boys hostel capacity is limited and generally students with some source get in. Others have to reside outside the college. All in all it costs about 2 Lakh to the parents.

Fees and Financial Aid

College doesn't provide any scholarship or loan. There is a scholarship for the students who are financially weak(below 2 lac family income), provided by UP government. Fact is people show less income to avail that scholarship. Also, many times scholarship doesn't reach the needy due to authorities corruption in the government even after the amount is sanctioned.

Campus Life

3.5

In few branches like CS, IT, EC girls are boys ratio is equal and in few classes girls are more. Crowd in these branches is modern, open and ready to discuss on topics which are taboo in the society which actually helps in personality development. In branches in IC, ME, MT, Civil, girls are really less like 3-10 in a class of 60. Crowd in not so modern and generally class environment is not so positive.. We have best labs as compared to most of the colleges in AKTU. Department try to provide all sorts of equipment for the students who are wiling to work. People participate in National level Robotics Competition e-Yantra and this year 3 teams participated and won that competition. We have a separate 24 hrs lab for robotics. People make cars, solar vehicles and participate in competitions. There are students who are into music who make songs, into book writing, into sports and participated in nationals. People crack GRE to study in US, Europe. Also There are many Gate toppers. In a nutshell, if you are willing, you can do anything here.

Hostel Facilities

3

I cannot comment on it as I do not live in the hostel. But according to what I have heard and observed hostel is JSS is of world class standards with good quality rooms and also AC rooms are also available at increased cost. Mess food in the college campus is enjoyable but as the same time it is not as good as home. Girls get hostel certainly but boys hostel capacity is limited and generally students with some source get in. Others have to reside outside the college. Outside the availability of hostels is sufficient and in all range. PG can be rented from 2500(3 sharing) a month for logging to 10000(personal) a month for logging. Same is for the food. All kinds of online food stores are functional in this area. There are people who spend 2000 a month on food and also those people who spend 10000 a month on food.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes! Seniors are great and always helpful. Juniors maintain contact through all possible ways like whats-app, emails, LinkedIn but seniors always provide guidance about whatever they can.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is divided into Internal and External Examination. There are 3 internal Examination with 2 internal practical exams. Later we go to a different college center to give our external examination. And we don't get free marks anywhere. In JSS, we have to earn marks in internals as well as externals. Schedule becomes hectic for 2-3 days a week but most of the time is enjoyable.

Admission

I gave examination of UPSEE 2013 conducted by UPTU, Lucknow. Then there were 3 rounds of allotment after you fill the colleges of your preference. After an allotment we can wait for the next round or just go to the reporting center to lock the choice. After locking the choice, you just have to go to the college with the fee drafts ready, get you admission number and its done!

Faculty

3

Yes, few faculties are extremely good. They teach well, guide will, always help you learn and try to provide industrial exposure. But most of the faculties are average or below average and many a times there is vacancies for faculties. There are few faculties who just speak without students listening to them. (We try to listen but such faculties teach in very uninteresting manner)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Jims is a ipu college, so yeah curriculum depends entirely on ipu University. First year is similar for all btech courses. Or is easy to earn marks in lab and soft skill subjects but maths or physics is hard. Your 12th basics should be very good, else these two subjects will affect your overall SGPA badly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course structure is good of btech but there there is only thing I don't like is that in btech course the subjects in first year are not related to career of students because there is physics, chemistry other irrelevant subjects present in first year but in second year the course become interesting and relevant. Curriculum is good and prepare well for real world applications. The exams comes frequently every month there is a class test but class tests are moderate on the basis of there difficulty level.

The students are eligible for placements in the final year. The college offers basic placement training and assistance. Some local and local-level comanies even visit for campus recruitment with average offers. Average package: 2-4 LPA, highest around 9-10 LPA 60-90 percent students get placed. My plan is to develop my skills and attain a good job or go for higher studies after degree.

Honestly speaking I don't like the curriculum of my college. Everything is same which people studied 20 years ago . Only few things has been changed and I don't understand why we need to study about things which don't have any existence in reality. They should focus on current tech and provide more learning opportunities in AI.
