Remarks

The admission process is online through the website www.sliet.ac.in. I have cleared the entrance test of the LEET exam and the cut-off is 60 percent. You can easily crack the entrance test. Another process of admission is through the jossa website. Eligibility, of course, is two criteria first you have to complete a diploma course and then you are eligible for the LEET exam, and second, you have to complete the 12th exam and then Qualified in JEE MAINS exam with a good rank after this you are eligible for the course. Here reservations also matter according to the government of India's reservation policy.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Chemical Engineering course is very good and the scope is also good in India or foreign. In college, the number of faculty is almost 400 and the number of students is almost 3000+. All the faculty have completed their Ph.D. and have 15-20 years of teaching experience. The exams are held according to the UGC calendar on time. You have to do hard work for passing the exam at this university.

The percentage of students getting placed is 80%. My plan is to study further for a higher degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of this college is medium. The total fee for the course is approx 3 lacs. In this institute, they will offer many scholarship schemes like student poor fund schemes, Tuition fee waivers, National scholarships (central level), post metric scholarships, all state-level scholarships, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
