Remarks

I don't want to put any bad remarks about my Alma Mater however i can suggest some things like the infrastructure can be developed a bit to compete in line with private universities which boast about great buildings and hostel facilities.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE 160/300 I OPTED FOR THIS COLLEGE AS IT IS A COLLEGE OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE AS WELL AS CLOSE TO MY HOME

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was quite good and robust.. i worked on some projects under mentorship of my professors who were very well qualified and informative. Course covered almost all the aspects of engineering subjects and no subject was taught loosely. Class interaction was great with all the peers and professors.

Internships Opportunities

Not as such. But a few companies like TATA STEEL AND MICROSOFT VISITED to provide internship to the students.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements were quite good in my passing out year.. Almost 100% got placed. Many PSU visited the campus and recruited almost 25% of the students with good packages. The average CTC stand about 4.50 lakhs in my passing out year. Reputed companies in Civil like L&T, MN DASTUR, SIMPLEX, SHAPOORJI, MC NALLY etc and PSU like NMDC, VIZAG STEEL & IOCL VISITED THE CAMPUS

College Events

4

Many college festivals are celebrated as listed below Aarohan- Huge tech fest in eastern India after spring fest of IIT KGP which saw participation from colleges in wide scale as well as plethora of events Motor Zundung- The automotive fest of our college which also saw wide participation from many colleges Recstacy- It's the cultural fest of college which turns it into ecstasy of festive mood for four days. It saw innumerable celebrities from Shaan to Shreya Ghoshal. Name any Bollywood singer and u will find him performed atleast once in Recstacy

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is standard as in any MHRD approved Deemed University. As in my time, the fees were around 28000 per year i.e. including two semesters which was very less compared to other private colleges. Also it provides merit based scholarship to deserving students this waiving their fees or half fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility is easily available for study in college from any Centralized bank. Some of my friends availed loans from SBI. Also college is now providing merit and need based scholarship to students based on family income of the latter.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life was awesome which gets me nostalgic the moment i remember. The same will be evident from the fact that the local students also opted staying at hostels more than staying at home. The gender ratio was 5:1 as a whole which was still less sat our department considering it to be core stream. Hostel parties were also common. Many clubs were there like ROBOTICS CLUB, LINUX CLUB, LITERARY CLUB AND MANY ELSE. Also annual sports as well as football and cricket competitions were convened once in a while both intra-college and inter- college

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are good not great though. As in our case, during first to third years we stayed in a quad-accommodation room and single accommodation in final year. Each person is provided with one almirah to store his belongings and a cot and table to study. Also food in hostels were good to start with, however, one gets bored with the same did everyday. Wednesday is the day for special dinner when they provide chicken/mutton along with other tasty edibles.

Alumni/Alumna

I didn't have any direct interaction with the alumni though know about some of my peers got some help in internship and foreign scholarships with support from the alumni. The alumni network is quite huge and spread throughout the world. The college establishment is more than 60 years.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was quite good but not very hectic. There was atleast 1 day break between two exams and the question paper provided adequate optional questions to prioritize the topics to study. Labs were good but the Viva Voce was little scary considering the professors got the chance to grill the students once a while.

Admission

I got admission through AIEEE exam in 2008 The admission happened through online counseling on CBSE PORTAL. It consisted of two counseling one at home combined with one at college. This was followed by verification of academic documents by a committee and finally offering of seats based on counseling and rank.

Faculty

4

The faculty of our college is well qualified as expected from a college of national importance. In addition they interacted with the students both publicly and personally, if required to eliminate any doubts regarding any subject. Many of the professors are PhD's or else pursuing PhD as then.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin
