Remarks

Students should have passed 12th with more than 75% marks to be eligible for admission here. Students should also have cleared jee mains if admission is taken through PTU counseling. The application form can be found on the clg website itself. All the information regarding the application fee, college fees, and application dates is provided there. The admission process was very seamless...but more students can be filtered to take admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Electronics and communication engineering bcz I had an interest in how things work, and what drives electronic components to work. Facilities are great here, very supportive and the faculty-student ratio is 1:10. Mostly all the facilities are excellent in their fields holding Ph.D. degrees from pronoun institutes like IIT, NIT, and IISc. Talking about the term exam, two midterm tests are taken and the final semester exam is taken at the last.

Internships Opportunities

4

Various companies are emerging IoT, Microsoft, Mahindra, IBM, and TCS come for an internship with very good stipends highest of 2 lakh for 3 months. For being eligible for an internship u should require to have the skills required by the company in the first place, ur projects during the semester will play a very imp. Role there.

Placement Experience

4

From the very 5th semester, placements start with various pronoun companies with various offers come like google Microsoft, zeolite, TCS, Mahindra, IBM and various more. The highest package this yr was 45.5 lakh and the average package is 8 lakh per annum. The placement percentage is 90% as various students also opt for higher studies. My plan is also to opt for M.Tech for which faculties are supportive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very clear and told to students in the very first place of their admission. Per semester fees are 45000. And if u want to opt for a hostel same goes for that too, 45k per semester. Various scholarships are provided to the students of weaker sections and also to those who are on the merit list of the institute. Financial assistance is provided to students doing project work and also various companies are here to provide u internships with stipends.

Campus Life

3.5

You will have the best campus life at Chandigarh Engineering College. The annual fest of clg is known as PARIVARTAN which is a mega event for students of various sections whether it be dancing, singing, start-up, or innovation. It is generally conducted in November. Talking about the availability of resources for research and study, clg has a large central library the more than 200000 books and journals with 4 small libraries in every department. The college has a DWS welfare society and also a sports culture society which conducts various sports events like basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, etc., and many more.

Hostel Facilities

4

I am a day scholar, so I think I don't fit to answer these qs but the hostels are great here and the food is really of 2nd home. Many of my friends live in a hostel and I heard the wardens are also very cooperative and friendly.

Interview Experience

3.5

Written test was taken as jee mains. Process for admission is clear i.e through ptu counseling. We have to bring all our certifications to clg and deposit fees and boom u r in clg. Preparation for the counseling round should be done carefully as various students are in line for that seat.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
