Remarks
Eligibility criteria for BSC. Physics Hons is studied PCM in 11th and 12th from any recognized board in India and securing at least 33% aggregate. I took admission through Merit at the 1st cut-off. But now you need to clear the CUET exam and appear for the cut-offs. The application form is available online at the DU website. My Application process took 15 - 30 days and then the 1st cut-off list was released. I cleared the cut-off for ARSD so I went to the college with my educational documents and deposited the admission fees. If you take admission in the 1st cut-off, you may cancel it after you get a better college in the 2nd list. Your admission money will be refunded.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Physics since I had an interest in the subject and there are more career opportunities in this field. The course curriculum for Physics Hons is very balanced and it contains almost all the important topics, We also have practicals and Coding. Everything will help you even in your master's. The student-teacher ratio is 15:1. Almost all the teachers are a doctorate and the rest are post-graduated. Many of them teach well and make every topic clear but few of the teachers need to focus on practical implications rather than just making students memorize theory. In coding classes, they need to teach the basics of code but rather they make us learn codes by ourselves. Internals are taken after 2 months which is fair enough and easy to pass. End sem exams are also good. DU is easy to pass if you study sincerely at least 15 days before the exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the 1st year, the annual fee was approx 12K, the next year it increased to 13K and in the final year, we were charged 14k. According to me, It was reasonable and affordable since the rest of other universities charge not less than 30-35k yearly. Scholarships are also provided to financially weak students. During the placement, I got an offer letter from WIPRO for their WILP program but I refused it due to reasons.
Campus Life
Life at ARSD is way better than any other South Campus college in DU and also better than many North campus colleges. The crowd is amazing and supportive, There are many societies like Dance, Drama, Music, Art, Photography, Hindi and English debate, etc. We have Diwali fests, art festivals, and the most awaited Annual Cultural Fest TIDE every year. The library is good and almost all the books are available, You can borrow books and also request one. Classrooms are spacious and well-lit, especially the newly made 2nd floor which is better than the other floors. Apart from these societies, Every department has its society and all are run by students. I was a part of the Illuminati - The Physics society.
