Remarks

SLIET take admissions in BE in two modes 1)JEE mains score 2)Lateral Entry for the diploma holders Students through jee mains will admit in 1st year of BE, and Students through lateral entry will be admitted in 2nd year of BE. If you are from JEE mains you must have to score a rank below 65,000 to get admission in BE CSE in sliet, If you are from the lateral entry you have to fill out the form which is outs every year in June-July SET-3. There are 10 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls, highly secure, have all the basic facilities like a geyser, water cooler,well-maintained bathrooms,well-furnished bedrooms, sports room, mess etc. Overall it is a good college having a 4.1 lakh average package with just 70000 per year fees(hostel included and mess not included). If you have high ambitions like being willing to work with google, Microsoft then this college is not for you because these product-based companies do not visit a college campuses,

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

End-term exams will hold every 4-5 months depending upon the semester time period, in between they have minor exams+ viva every semester, it is quite easy in sliet to get a good cgpa, you can score good marks if you are attached to any good senior, he/she will guide you for sure.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students are eligible to do internships from any semester but for placements, the final year means 7 semesters are eligible now, for on-campus not assuming any off-campus drive. Mostly all the service-based companies, MNCs visits campus for placements like Tcs,infosys, wipro,l&t,ibm, accenture,Reliance Jio,Coca cola, pepsico,Mother dairy, capegemimi, cognizant, vardhman,Mahindra group, tech mahindra, sonalika and many more. The highest package till now is around 24 lakhs, The average package is 4.1 lakhs. The overall percentage of placements of students is between 85-90 per cent. My plan after getting the degree is all doing a decent job for some years and then go for MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is a centrally funded university, so the hike is not that high, it's negligible overall. Every semester has a fee of 35500 (hostel included but mess not included) You can calculate for a whole degree by simply multiplying the 1-semester fee × 8 semester. There are 2-3 types of scholarship on sliet campus, named Poor child scholarship, Tuition fee waiver scheme(TFW), NSP scholarship, And one more but this one is not for everyone which is, the 1st rank student (AIR) in the Lateral entry exam of BE. You can opt for a loan also from any bank, sliet accepts fees from loans also.

Campus Life

4.5

The college has a big campus with all facilities. The College library is full of 10000-course books. There are lots of clubs runner by college are Instagram id's :- sliet helpdesk :- beauty_of_sliet Website Sliet.ac.in Clubs Student Software development club Endeavours Mavericks Juggernauts Modelling clubs Photography club NCC sliet Sports clubs like kabbadi, cricket, badminton, volley ball, football, table tennis etc

Hostel Facilities

4

Sliet has its own hostels so don't need any room or pg for accomodation, You can easily get a hostel which is situation in the campus itself, Hostels are well maintained, staffs are also very cooperative, has all the basic facilities like geysers, water cooler, wifi, well maintained bathroom, well maintained rooms, ambience of the campus is also very good, medical facilites is also there, mess, indoor hostel sports room etc.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
