Remarks

The admission was through the Common Admission test exam. The college released a list of people who had qualified for the WAT/PI rounds and after the WAT/PI rounds, the final list was declared. A person should be minimum graduation qualified to take on this course. The application form can easily be found on the google website and the date of the CAT exam is generally the last Sunday of November. In terms of reservation benefits, the cutoffs are a little reduced for OBC candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview

MBA as a course provides an enriching perspective to a person. It's not just course or books, the people you will meet and the placements and every aspect of the course prepares you for the corporate life ahead of you. The pedagogy used and the faculty are well qualified and the exams are held 3 times a year.

Internships Opportunities

The internship season also starts in October for 1st-year students around 100-120 companies visit the college every year and almost all the students get paid internships. The internship projects can be from various domains.

Placement Experience

The placement season starts around October and continues till February on some occasions. The highest domestic package offered during my tenure was 26 lakhs p.a. and the median salary was around 11-12 lakhs p.a. 100% of placements take place every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the course were 16,10000 in total including the hostel fees and everything. There are provisions for loans from banks at very reduced rates that can be availed. In terms of scholarships, the college does not provide any scholarships however state governments do provide some interest subsidies in a few cases.

Campus Life

AGON is the name of the annual fest of IIM Ranchi. It's a sports and cultural fest that provides a great platform for the students to showcase their skills and talents. The classrooms are a bit small however now that the new campus has been built, I am quite sure that this issue would have been resolved.

Likes

Placements are quite good peers are usually from ranchi
Professors are quite good. They have dept knowledge ot the subjects which they are teaching
Pressure is quite low if you compare it with other b schools

Dislikes

Course curriculum can be made more pratical as it is quite theoretical in nature
Pratical exposure can be improved like more guest lectures and seminars

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students get eligible for placements. I guess around more than 50+ companies visit the campus. The highest package is always around 20+ lakhs and on average you can consider 12 lakhs while the lowest is 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed can be said around 95%. My plan is to get a good corporate job and work there as such no fancy plans.

Life at XLRI

Likes

Great campus life. Everyone gets single rooms, so theres privacy and flexibility to fo things at your own pace.
Engagement activities in terms of fests, committees on campus. Everyone gets a chance to participate in varius events catering to their likes and dislikes.
The professors really lean into technologically advanced teaching resources abd methods usings google classrooms and teams classrooms. This streamlined the deadlines, required assignments and upcoming quizzes

Dislikes

A certain lack of transparency regarding the placements policies and process.
The hunger for more students and contant construction on campus. All free and green spaces are used for more rooms constructed which just deteriorates the quality of life there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The HR course was quite comprehensive. Lots of subjects were dedicated to different functionalities of HR. Lots of focus on Law, and employee benefits, worker rights and employer responsibility. The course boasts of some of the stalwarts of the industry teaching different courses such as the Professor who teaches compensation is responsible for designing the compensation structure over at HUL. It's very comprehensive, and periodically reviewed to remain relevant to the changing times

The professor's are amazing and always ready to help.
The infrastructure is very beautiful and charming.
The course curriculum is up to date so it helps in several areas.

Dislikes

For me i think IMS is best and yes of course you should surely enroll here.

Placement Experience:

There are many companies that visit IMS and pick students by taking exams and interviews. Some of them include Accenture, Capgemini, tcs, etc. These multinational companies visit and you can take your chance by qualifying exam and interview. In short, there is full placement in IMS and you will surely be settled after your course.

Admission:

The admission was done on the basis of the CAT entrance exam. I applied for the admission online and after my application was shortlisted, I took the written test conducted by the college which was followed by the group discussion and personal interview.

A review on my college

Remarks:

The infrastructure of our college is very good. The campus life was great too, we have a good library updated to a digital library, labs, counseling center, ATM, etc. The film society used to run film shows at the weekend which was awesome.

Remarks:

The college and campus were built on strong fundamentals that each and every student is important even though they are passed out they would still remain a member of the institute. The admission process is nice and transparent. I don't see any scope of improvement.
