Remarks

you can get admission to the course mainly two ways, one is by entrance merit seat allotment and the second by management seat. around 50% of seats are for merit and the other 50%for management seats.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose computer science because of the opportunity it's going to offer me. in SCET it comes under KTU, and hence the curriculum is designed by KTU. all the faculty are good. most of the faculties are doctorate graduates.

Class Size: 61Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

the cost of studying is almost affordable, there hasn't been a sudden hike in fees before. apart from this college providing scholarships for merit students, it includes private as well as government scholarships.

Campus Life

The college has a number of professional organizations functioning inside that include IEEE, NSS so on. these groups conduct programs on special days. and tech fest is also conducted annually. sports and arts day is also conducted.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?
