Remarks
I had written KCET and COMEDK both. But since I dint get a good ranking in Cet I had to opt for admission through Comedk. The admission procedure was not that hectic. The officials were cooperative enough. Once the seat allotments for Comedk had begun I checked for the availability in colleges. Since I particularly wanted to go to the biology field I opted for RV since most of the colleges did not have this branch. The cut-off for comedk in my year i.e 2019 was 15k for biotech. Other branches had much fewer cut-offs. I got admission through Comedk. I am from a general. So there were no reservations as such for me. The normal fees for Cet were much lesser than comedk and for management quota, it was around 3L I guess. Upon this, there is an extra fee under the column extra fees wherein they collect 38k. And this is fixed for all the quotas be it comed k cet or management. As a biotech Student if you are really passionate about biology or research only then come into this field.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course for 2 reasons. One I wanted to choose a course which dint have math XD. The other is that I wanted something related to biology. Taking biotech into consideration, there are fewer students compared to other branches. We just have one section but other departments have 3 sections almost and a strength of around 120. Coming to the faculties. Most of them are amazing and say out of 100 at least 90 of them are PhD holders. So they are knowledgeable. The teaching method varies from teacher to teacher. So one may find one teacher good another may find another.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for placements once they are in the 5th sem. There were many companies visited like the MathCo., Accenture, Infosys, Goldman Sachs, Wipro etc The highest package was 50/52L for CS. It's almost like 80% placement. My plans after my degree are to write an exam called JAM for a joint degree in MSc and Phd.
Fees and Financial Aid
As of now, they haven't done any fee hikes yet I'm not sure if they have that plan. I didn't get any scholarships. I haven't got a job yet and I'm not planning for campus placements as I want to go for higher studies. But not lying other circuit branches get ample amount of companies for placements.. they are really good
Campus Life
The annual fest at RV is the 8th mile which is a very famous fest. it's conducted alternate years. It's a very high-budget fest with DJs, and many more interesting events..it's really great guys! Coming to the library.. library is a great one. I mean I have just visited it like 7-8 times XD in these 3 years but a very well-maintained one it is. I'm not really into sports but all kinds of sports are encouraged. There is a handball team, cricket team, basketball, football, table tennis, badminton everything. There are many clubs run by students like the CARV which is the circle of acting at Rv which is a theatre club and has Kannada Hindi and English. I am in the Kannada club. It has a music team, dance team, NCC, NSS, rotract etc and many technical teams like robotics, and racing cars.
