Remarks

Students who have passed their 12th with science or vocational stream are eligible for this course. On the basis of average marks in 4 subjects i.e. biology, chemistry, physics, and English, a merit list is prepared and the selected students get admitted after counseling. All application-related information is available on the official website of the University. Reservation is also there as per government norms. The admission process is very smooth so I don't think any as such improvement in the admission process is not required right now.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because agriculture and allied sectors provide more jobs than any other sector and also this course helps us to develop our entrepreneurial skills so that we can start our venture. The only faculty that is being run is the Faculty of Agriculture. The maximum number of students each year is 32. All the teachers are well qualified and highly educated so their teaching quality is wonderful. The teachers are also very friendly which helps to develop a healthy teacher-student relationship. Each year comprises 2 semesters of 6 months each and the difficulty level of the semester exam is somewhere between moderate to hard.

Placement Experience

3

Most of the students go for higher studies or govt. jobs after the completion of graduation. The placement facility in our college is not that good but yes some companies like pesticides, fertilizer, etc. are there which can provide jobs. The companies are Bayer, Syngenta, UPL, and Tata and their annual average package is 2.4 lakh/annum but it varies. 20% of the students get placement in these companies and others go for M.Sc. or govt. service. I plan to study for different govt. jobs after completing graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Due to a govt. college only course fees and mess fees have to be provided and other charges are free. The course fee for each semester is Rs.1250 and the mess fee varies between Rs.1800-2100 per month. No scholarship is currently being given from the college to the undergraduate students but different govt. scholarships are there for which eligible students can apply.

Campus Life

4

4 major programmes are conducted. These are Unmesh- annual sports programme (conducted in February), Naibedya- Rabindrajayanti programme (conducted in may), Anuranan- farewell programme (conducted in august) and Nexus- Freshers' cum annual programme (conducted in December). Regarding the library, available books are there and different types of books are available. 4 smart classrooms are there and they are equipped with projector, blackboard, audio-visual system, well ventilation etc. Regarding sports, 2 large grounds are there for playing cricket, and football. A volleyball and a badminton court are also available. In the case of indoor games table, tennis and carrom are popular here. No website is currently being run by the students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is outstanding. 2 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for girls and all are present inside the campus boundary. A student will be provided with a bed, a table, a chair, and a wardrobe during admission. The quality of food and water that are supplied from the mess, is also very good and healthy. The meal is provided 2 times a day that is lunch and dinner. The menu and varieties of foods are awesome and all credit goes to the canteen staff. Due to a govt. hostel no hostel charge or electricity charge is taken. We only have to bear the meal charge which is Rs.1800-2100 per month. So it is very much affordable. The registration process is also very smooth and it is generally done during the admission process.
