Remarks

Admission process is quite difficult. If you want a seat in college you should appear in an entrance examination and secure a rank between 1-40000 to get an admission to the college.Rank 1- 20000 gets an extra fee waiver also.To Write KEAM entrance exam you should pass Higher secondary examination. Registration is done fully online. SC/ST category gets Reservation benefits and fee waiver as well as Scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because I love technology and programming and it's a best place to improve my knowledge. Faculty is very friendly and highly qualified professionals are taking the classes.Classes are taken orally and lecture notes are given.Home works are given to students frequently.There are Two internal exams and a University exams in each semester and exams are quite difficult.

Internships Opportunities

Companies like TCS, Wipro and Infosys are providing internship for our college with a good stipend.They are allowed to work us under their team and complete the task with them.Its a great opportunity to improve our skill.

Placement Experience

From Sixth semester students become eligible for campus placements.Big companies Like TCS,Wipro are recruiting students from our college. Highest Package offered is 10 LPA and Average package offered is 3LPA. Every student pass the B.tech degree are placed.My plan after getting degree is to Apply for M.tech in my college to improve my knowledge.

Fees and Financial Aid

These total fees for a student with merit seat is 45000rs which includes tuition fees, exam fees, Library fees, Sports fee etc.. The student with SC/ST Category have almost no fee at all. All Government scholarships are available. Campus recruitment are done every year with good number of placements.

Campus Life

There is Tech fest and An Art fest in each year. Festival like Onam, Holi, Christmas are celebrated with events. Almost all books are Available in the library. Library is quite big also.Smart class are available.Sports day are conducted in each semester with active participation in all sports category. NSS Club is actively running in College.College election are also conducted every year.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel room is equipped with all basic electric appliances and a bed and a storage shelf is also provided. Rooms are very clean. Meals are supplied with good quality and quantity.Any student inside the college can get a registration to the Hostel. Total money for the hostel per month is 4300 which includes food and accommodation is affordable compared to other rental rooms near the college.

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

The admission process began with myself being ranked at 20k in the KEAM examination where i was alloted to college of engineering and management, punnapra on a merit seat.
