What Students Say
Likes
- Okayish infrastructure and overall ambience looks pleasing to some okayish to some but no one would call it bad
- Teachers are good who actually teach unlike many other campuses(so called good ones)
- Freedom! As its Under cape its very much like a govt college its not too strict like many other pvt colleges but beware freedom is always a double edged sword you may need some time ane to learn wielding it
Dislikes
- Campus is just minimal...there just a single ground and an indoor badminton court, a couple of nets thats it
- As its relatively a new college clubs and such technical groups are not well established not a bad thing in way an opportunity for an adventure of building them from sctatch
- Politics is there not so intense but yea strikes once or twice a sem is a common phonomena, no party fights so its cool, who doesnt love those pleasant holiday surprises
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, Iam the last batch from 2019 syllabus, if you ask whether what we learn is relavant i would say those evergreen basic concepts are always relevant but are we prepared for the industry just by being in good in academics i don't think so! But the new scheme that is 2024 scheme of KTU is much much better, they are learning python in their first sem itself and many other changes have also been made
Placement Experience
Placements are there and the average salary was around 20 k per month Its not that there aint good placements companies offering 6 -8 lpa do come for the cse dept its just the students arent able to clear their preliminary exams...so its more of a student problem..if you are passionate abt your future and ready to work hard you would be placed
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees is technically just 35k but it kinda rounds upto 45k, as its a semi govt college the fee part is linient. There are scholarship for students who got 85% and above of 15k named EkNayanar Scholarship, then there is e grants, certain students get full scholarship who come under sc/st/oec category (they dont even have to pay the hostel fee either).
Campus Life
Its not a very large campus but its lively with events happening every once in a while, its green and close from Alappuzha town and just 3km away from Alappuzha railway station so connectivity is good. A hospital is there just the opposite of the campus looked after by cape itself.. You got access to beaches just in 600 m distance.. locals are good and helpfull...its good While coming to sports the college has a good badminton team, then there is cricket, football, chess table tennis teams tooo our physical education sir is great i would say ! The campus boasts of two units of NSS, Tinker hub, iedc, etc
Hostel Facilities
A room can accommodate 3 ppl in MH and 4 in LH Food is good as its reviewed and changed by us evry once in a while. The rooms are tidy and basic with just one cubard and a study table. We even got enough space around the hostel. Monthly fee fluctuates btwn 3.8k to 5k
Admission
My rank wasnt great, ie around 25k so this was the cheapest and best college i could get in for cse.after govt and ihrd colleges this is the best one..good campus, good teachers, okayish placements, As the syllabus is the same for almost all colleges of kerala so this wasn't a bad bet either...
Faculty
Faculty strength is enough for the student strength and they are nice enough approachable. The strength of EEE and ECE aint very great but apart from all departments are almost full or just less of capacity...this year the college increased the strength of CSE dept and brought a CSBS department too and all of them are almost filled. We got two series exams each sem and the difficulty level is actually easier than our plus two unit tests. Teachers are generally nice and proffessional and would always try to not put in trouble given you were decent and manared in class and academics
