Rajesh's Review On Sri Jayachamarajendra College Of Engineering - [SJCE], Mysore

Karnataka Common Entrance Test(CET). Since I prepared for JEE, my CET rank was very good(160 out of 50000). Mysore is my hometown. So I chose SJCE over othe colleges.

SJCE is an autonomous college under VTU. Subjects and syllabus will be decided by the college. Subjects in any semesters are decided based faculty availability. Each Course contains maximum of five units. Exams are also conducted by the college itself.

SJCE is the most famous college for placement. Nearly around 600 students will get placed in at-least one company out of 700. During my final year 8 companies came for internship for our branch . Some companies are Texas instruments, Brocade, Ametek, SAP,Philips, Sneider Electric etc. Stipend was minimum 15k.

SJCE is the most famous college for internship CS, IS, EC and EE are the branches which get more companies. SJCE is having good policy for placement. Companies are divided into mass, core and dream according to CTC. Each student can avail two opportunities to get job in a company. During my final year around 90 companies came.

SJCE is private-Aided college. So fees is decided by government and that is affordable. During my admission into college fees was 18k for the first year and around 21k for the next three years.

Yes scholarships are available for poor background students and OBC/SC/ST students. Fees refund is also available for those students. MHRD and many other scholarship is available for merit students.

My campus life was most enjoyable and fun filled period for me. Ragging is banned in our college. Every year state level Hockey, Cricket tournaments are conducted in our college. Apart from that Each branch conducts their own technical fests where many events like seminars, guest lectures etc will take part. During JAYCIANA(College fest) conducted for three days many events like marathon, cyclathon, Stage performances(dance,Famous singers,Fashion show) etc will be held.

Not much experience with alumini network because not part of it. Some college seniors will come back to college to share their experiences like MS in US,Mtech etc.

In every semester there will be 3 internals and 2 events(quiz,seminar,projects,etc) which accounts 50% of the total marks and remaining 50% marks will be from End exams. Three internals may seem hectic but if you are prepared then it can be handled easily

Faculties of SJCE are good but not best. Most of the senior faculties have phd degree. Standards of teaching are good. On a scale of 10 i'll rate as 7 for teaching in SJCE. Because of autonomous faculties will be having control over the syllabus and exams
