Remarks

Money, money, money. They thought that respect comes by money all time and by hard work only few times. Overall college management was good with a huge price tag on it.

Entrance Preview

We had to take up CET Common enterence test conducted by CET Board of Karnataka. Ranking 1100, The college which I choose had a good reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Very bulky. Not practical. After we got a job, we could feel a huge gap between industrial requirement and knowledge we gained from curriculum. The semester system is not good for engineering. In a span of 6months, we had to study 6 subjects with two labs. Along with it we had to submit assignment, clear monthly test and final semester exam. Most of time is spent on studying for exam rather than experiencing the science of engineering.

Internships Opportunities

No stipend. We had to take bank loan to pay fees. They didn't even leave a single Paisa. In mechanical labs, it is common that machine tool ware out after some time. The student who was working last time with the tool was noted down, and college management collected breakage fee extra from that student. Or else we will not get exam Hall ticket. Shear black mail.

Placement Experience

2.5

From our branch 80% placement was achieved. Very few for mechanical companiea.Lots of offers from it companies. We had to clear Appitute test, Technical test, Hr interview, Group discussions. Infosys, wipro, TCS....4L Cummins, Oracle, accenture....3L.

College Events

0.5

The college management was very strict. All the technical, cultural festivals were banned.since our batch was the first batch, so no cultural activities. All though in our final semester, we were allowed to visit few industries as a part of technical industrial visit.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very very very very expensive. We had to struggle to repay the education loan to pay the fees. We had to pay 12000 for CET cell, college admission fee 10000, teaching fee 20000, building infrastructure fee, lab fee. Other than this hostal fee, food expenses. The list goes on. Around 50000/- per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship. Good loan facility. Allahabad bank was inside college campus. They had special counters for student loan. At our time we had to pay 18% interest. Fixed interest. No interest for 1 year after graduation.

Campus Life

1.5

In our mechanical branch, for whole batch of boys, only 2 girls. But in other branches, it was almost equal gender ratio. No extra curricular activities. Other college were not allowed inside campus. It was cool. No ethnical fights, no racism, no sexual Assaults. It was secure. We could see few students from other countries inside our campus.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Big hostel building, many small rooms. All with sharing. No internet no wifi not even a desktop. We were made to pay for each item.food was as per general standards. Not so good. Not so bad. Two guys per room. Although pg are available now near to college. At our time, the college was surrounded by farm lands. Rent 5000/- per month.

Alumni/Alumna

Now the college management has taken initiative to conduct alumni meet. Good to see old friends. Although most of them have become NRI's. We were the fast batch students. There was no Facebook at that time. We use to play using Orkut.

Exam Structure

Very hectic schedule. One after another tests. In one semester of 6 months, we had to clear monthly assignments, monthly internals, lab pre test, writing lab records and final semester exam. If not cleared in first attempt, Then again supplementary exam.

Admission

Rank will be assigned based on CET result +PU marks. Concealing was held according to rank on scheduled date given by CET board. The candidates can select college and branch based on availability of ceat displayed on online screen in conference room after documents verification.

Faculty

1.5

Not so bad compared to local colleges. Luckily we had lectures for all subjects. Most of the lectures were busy doing their own PhD, so they were less bothered about whether the studied understood topic or not. Getting good marks is only criteria not the knowledge .

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
