One has to have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology to apply for this course. In which the student is required to have a percentage score above 50%. The application details which include the form, guidelines, and the dates will be put up on the College's Website. After the completion of the application process, the College will send a mail containing the following information: Date of Entrance Exam, Portions to be covered for the exam, and the Schedule of the Entrance exam. The Entrance exam will begin with a written test, after which the students will be called for a personal interview and then the student will be asked to participate in a group discussion. The results of the Entrance Exam will be mailed in a short while (1 week Max) Once the results are published the student will be required to pay the academic fees and the hostel fees (if one opts for the same).
Course Curriculum Overview
The term exams are conducted semester-wise. If one simply pays attention to the teacher and reads up the topics it would be more than sufficient to grade higher than 70%. The internal assessments are designed to attain Bloom's Taxonomy of Learning.
Internships Opportunities
Most of my seniors have had beautiful experiences interning in different institutions. Montfort College provides guidance in ensuring that the students get opportunities to intern in the best institutions.
Placement Experience
The placements take place in the final semester. I plan on writing the NET exam after the completion of my master's and finding a career in the teaching profession. I would mostly lean towards teaching school students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The academic fee is 130000 per year. There are several scholarship opportunities for students. The Management provides financial assistance for students in need. The hostel fees per semester are 65200 for a single room and 59200 for twin sharing rooms.
Campus Life
The social life in Montfort is hands down the best. Since it's a College that has majorly Psychology courses the population is lesser than most colleges and this gives the opportunity for the students to form a connection with almost everyone in college. Montfort College is literally the only college that emphasizes the mental health of both the staff and the students. The college has 11 clubs and all are active throughout the year. The college also provides a buddy system in which the freshers are each given a guide from the final year. Every classroom has an LED projector which is used to enhance learning. There is a library on campus that functions on all working days. Apart from the active clubs, there are several informal groups where students can participate in. One such informal gathering happens every Friday after class, where we have jamming sessions. The college also houses common rooms and an infirmary. There is a canteen on campus as well.
