Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had a keen interest in biology that's why I chose this course. The curriculum prepares really good with hands on experiences in lab to work for the real life problems. We have two exams in each semester and sometimes presentations.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internships are offered by almost all of the labs here where students from any institute can come and do internships or project work. They can also come here for dissertation and thesis. Project assistant positions are also there.

Placement Experience

5

Campus do offer placement but it is more research oriented so students prefer to continue the higher studies rather than choosing placement. My plan is also to ago for phd and then post doc to pursue research.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee for the academics is around 29000 for Gen/OBC/EWS and 20000 for SC/ST. There are financial aids for the Us as we get 16000 stipend for the masters and then 37000 jrf for phd and 42000 srf

Campus Life

5

The campus life is quite good. We have several fests including Pravega and Rhapsody the centres of that. Books and journals are easily accessible via library. Classrooms are equipped with digital display and air conditioning

Hostel Facilities

5

The Hostel facility is quite good with minimal charges. In the room we get table, chair, bed, fan, cupboard and a balcony attached with room. Meal quality is very good. Registration process for these are quite smooth.

Admission

This is the most reputed institution of india that's why I chose this college. I applied in IIT Bombay and iit roorkee as well and got selected in iit roorkee. The admission process of my college involve IIT JAM exam and then personal interview.

Faculty

5

Faculty to students ratio is quite good. Students can approach students anytime they are quite approachable. We have two exams mid term and end term each semester and they are based on whatever we do or learn in the classes.

Interview Experience

5

I secured AIR 109 in IIT JAM-BT exam and then called for interview. After clearing the interview I got the offer letter. The process is quite smooth where you first have to appear for a national level exam and then interview.

Night Life

5

Nightlife is very good, you can roam around in the campus anytime in the night. Cafeterias are open till 4 AM. Hostels are open all the time with security guards there. Famous hangout places include main building, sarvam complex, Gymkhana.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
