The biological sciences department now offers an M.Sc. course alongside its existing Ph.D. programs, enhancing its academic offerings. The favorable faculty-to-student ratio ensures students have easy access to faculty, with each semester featuring mid-term and end-term exams aligned with the curriculum. Although primarily research-oriented, the institute assures better placement options, yet many students opt for higher studies like Ph.D. and postdoctoral research instead of immediate placements. First-year life sciences students focus on lab projects rather than internships, gaining essential research and publication skills.
The campus supports internships and project work for students from any institute, with project assistant positions available. M.Sc. Life Science students pay annual fees of approximately 29,000 INR for General, OBC, and EWS categories, and 20,000 INR for SC/ST categories. The program does not provide direct financial assistance, but students with scholarships, such as the Aspire scholarship, may benefit. Additionally, master's students receive a 16,000 INR stipend, with 37,000 INR for JRF and 42,000 INR for SRF during Ph.D.
studies. However, campus job opportunities are limited.
