Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is tailored in such a way that it provides quality education to students who want to become teachers. The course is having a duration of 6 years. The first 4 years is for BSc level education in PCM along with Education paper (BEd) and the last two years are for MSc education in Physics

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internship opportunity to students in the fourth year in Javahar Navodhaya Vidyalaya for 45 days as a teaching practise. There won't be any stipend but the travel expenses will be covered by college

Placement Experience

The campus placements is given in the basis of marks. Different schools from South India come to college and takes interviews and other selection methods to give placement to students on the basis of marks and their performance in different selection tasks. The campus guaranteed 100 percentage placements The minimum package is 4lpa and maximum is 20lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise the fees is 13000 for academics. In the beginning while taking admission, we have to pay around 30000 as admission fee, caution deposit etc. The fee structure is same for all the courses. Different scholarships offered by the Karnataka government is available in the college,also the NCERT scholarship which is 8000 per year is available for students, given according to merit.

Campus Life

The college has different clubs like Cosmos for physics, Calix for maths, Chemshala for chemistry, Dhwani and Laya for music, D-haven for dance, heritage club, Symposium(philosophy club),Art attack etc. The students council organizes different cultural and sports event to give opportunity to showcase talents of different students. The college has an annual fest called Reverie, what different students of different colleges come to participate in the different cultural event arranged as part of the fest. The library of well furnished and all established, computerised as well

Hostel Facilities

The rooms are allotted for 2 or 3 students. There are 2 doored cupboards and 2 open shelves. Wifi is available in the hostel, after the college hours. Meal quality is substandard with only vegetarian food which is not nutritious but cleanliness is maintained in boys hostel. Hostel will be available for almost all the students who take admission.

Admission

I haven't applied to any other colleges. The interesting thing about my college is the integrated course which gives 3 degree (BSc) in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and BEd in Physical science and mathematical science and MSc in Physics. The admission is based on entrance exam called CEE RIE which is a pretty easy exam. The cut off varies every year and admission is based on pure merit in the basis of availability of seats

Faculty

There are enough number of faculties both for education subjects and core subjects. All the faculties are well qualified. The exam and marking is as follows: There are two internal exams named as C1 and C2 and a final semester exam named C3 C1 and C2 are conducted by the faculties who are teaching the respective subjects. Each internal is for 25 marks, total 50 marks. The semester exam is for 50 marks. The internals can be exam, projects, assignments, seminars, presentations etc. There is also a practical exam for 50 marks along with semester exam.

Night Life

There is no night life in college as well as mysore. The hostel timings for girls are 8pm, and for boys, 9:30 pm, the main gate of the college will be closed by 9pm. There is an open gym and a canteen which functions during college hours. The locality is safe with nearby restaurants, stationary and Xerox shops. The university of mysore is also nearby
