Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this because i am keen towards physics. The course curriculum is upto date and appropriate. But the mode of practicalness is not well. Exams are conducted on time with timely completion of syllabus no problem with that.

Internships Opportunities

3

For internship , we will be sent to different JNVs of southern states , where we need to stay three months over there and teach to the childeren. I am not sure about the stipend given during internships.

Placement Experience

4

The palcements are good over here. Mostly 90 percent people get placed . International schools comes to offer placement . For last year min salary per month is set to 50000. Many prefer to do MSc rather going for placements. Few go for placed schools for employment.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently pursuing bsc.bed in pcm course 1st year 2nd sem. Here they offer bsc and bed within four years The fee structure goes this way: For Home state-Karnataka students 1) State board - General and SC/ST total course fee per year is 17,153 and 12,153 respectively 2)For other boards - General and SC/ST is 23,448 and 18,448 respsctively Hostel fee for girls of any state for 1stsem is 17000 Hostel fee for boys for 1st sem of any state is 21000 For other states General category course fee:37539 SC/ST:32539 The same is applicable to BA.BED also. Regarding scholarships NCERT scholarship is awarded 10000 rupees and karnataka people get their state scholarship not sure about the amount.

Campus Life

4

The overall experience is good. The most enjoying moments in RIE are during the festivals . Every state festival of southern states of India are celebrated grandly here. Each festival 35000 fund will be provided from the college side .There are houses too..House competitions are so exciting it includes all aspects of cocurricular activities such as arts , dance , singing , sports ,poetry etc. We have an upcoming inter collegiate fest Reverie on 14 , 15 and 16. We have clubs like calix for maths , chemshala for chemistry , cosmos for telescopic observatory etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Our hostel room is 3 memberer room with 3 cots , 2 tubelight, 1 fan , 2 upboards and 2 windows , study table and chair. The room is good enough. The meals are not that good as karnataka people eat less spicy less salty and less oily .Actually its a healthy food. People from AP and TS cannot adjust to this food.pickles are must .The menu is good .It is purely veg menu.Hostel registration can be done during the admission process. It costs 17000 for 1st sem and for later sems it is 13000 per semester. In the initial semester 4000 is charged for maintenance. I havent opted any PG.But there are Plenty if PGs around the college.

Admission

I chose this college because for education this is the best college for the southern region of India. The admission is based on a entrance test called RIE CEE. It consits of subjects English, reasoning and teaching aptitude . English-20 questions Reasoning-30questions Teaching aptitude-30 questions Each correct answer carries 2 marks and wrong answer -0.5 mark. Duration 120 minutes. 60 % of this test marks is considered and 40 % is added from the aggregate of class 12 and makes it up to overall 100 marks.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is not well known to me .Few faculty are very good engaging with students .One such faculty is Dr.Epsitha mam.She explain topics so well and she always keeps motivating the students and provide good guidance aviut teaching field. The faculties that i dont like are the lab staff and assistance members they are rude to us wont explain anything with calm tone. We have semester based exams .For internals we will be having two exams c1 and c2 both of each 25 marks. And end semester is of 50 marks .Exams are of moderate level .The subjects are physics maths chemistry physics lab chemistry lab languages one elective and one education subject for each semester till 2nd year , further 2 yeats instead of language we will be having pedagogy

Interview Experience

4

No there are no such things during admission..only test basis . Admission is finalized based on RIE CEE examand considers the reservation. Also for each southern state there are only abiut 8seats per course .

Night Life

4

We have open gym here and library timings from 9 am to 7 30 pm on working days , during holidays it remains closed. The hostek timings for girls is 5 am to 8pm in concern with the safety issue of girls. For boys it is till 10 pm . Here we have kukkarhalli lake for a good and healtheir morning and evening walk , very peaceful area. Also Mysuru palace , Karange Lake, mysuru zoo , chamundi temple , sayyaji road all lies in 10 km radii.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements right after completing their B.Math(Hons) degree, i.e after their 6th semester. Companies like Microsoft, Google, LinkedIn, Wipro, and other Multinational Companies visit and every student gets an offer from one company or the other. The package ranges from 10LPA to 25LPA. Those students who opt for placement after their B.Math(Hons) course is over, all get a placement offer while most of the students prefer to continue their Master's Degree. I too would like to complete my Master's Degree after my bachelor and think about further options thereafter.
