KLE Society’s Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute is an Autonomous college in Belgaum( or Belagavi) city, Karnataka. The Science wing of the already existing Lingaraj Arts College was later named Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute after the name of Sardar Raja Lakhagouda Basavaprabhu Sirdesai who contributed a lot to the development of the college.
KLE Society’s Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute was established in 1935 with a mission to provide quality Science Education. The college has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade and approved by the All India Council Of Technical Education(AICTE).

The institute is affiliated with Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. In the year 2013, Autonomous status was given to the institute by the UGC. The institute offers B.Sc and M.Sc programs in various fields. Various Certified courses are also offered such as Electrical Engineering, Discrete Mathematics Food & Nutrition Biotechnology, and many more.

The government of Karnataka offers scholarships to the scheduled castes and minorities and every institute that comes under it has to follow the same scheme while assisting. Following are the Scholarships offered to the students:
- Sir C V Raman Scholarship (For meritorious students pursuing science education) - Amount of Rs 5000/- is awarded to meritorious students at the undergraduate level.
- Sanchi Honnamma Scholarship - Amount of Rs 2000/- is awarded to girl students pursuing a Bachelor of Science(B.Sc).
- Kittur Rani Chennamma Puraskar - Girls students who have BPL cards are reimbursed for their CET cell fees.
- Rajeev Gandhi Loan Scholarship - Students with annual family income less than Rs 2.5 lakhs who have loans, Government pays the interest subsidy for the study period.
- Victims/Victims’ Children of HIV and Leprosy - Amount of Rs 21,800/- is provided to students suffering from HIV and Leprosy.
- Kannada/Sanskrit/English Language at Degree level - Amount of Rs 500/- to meritorious students studying Kannada/Sanskrit/English at Degree level.

Following are the facilities offered by the institute to cater to the need of the students and the faculty members:
- Library: The institute library consists Textbooks, Reference books, Journals, and magazines all are available for students to read. Other written materials such as Handbooks, Reports, Data books, and encyclopedias are also available. The library can be accessed by students of both KLE Society’s Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute and Lingaraj Arts College
- Hostel: 5 hostels are functioning under the KLE society. 1 boys hostel and 4 girls hostel are present on the campus for students. All the students who wish to live in the hostel are given accommodation and the vacant seats are filled by sister institutions. The mess in the hostel provides hygienic and nutritious food to the students at all times.
- College Canteen: The institute has a very spacious canteen in the middle of the campus which is easily accessible for all the students. A variety of foods and drinks are there for the students to enjoy in between classes.
- Computer Laboratory: A computer lab is there for students to use for many purposes. Many computers are put in place so that students face no hassle.
- Laboratory- A Laboratory with all the modern apparatus and machines are made available to the students so that experiments can be done. Lab assistants provide students with proper assistance so that they can use the lab without any hassle.
- Wi-fi Campus: The campus has a Wi-fi connection so that students can access the internet for academic purposes.
- Playground- For sports enthusiasts, a big playground is available on the college campus. Many sports events are organized every semester so that students can take part and have fun. The ground can be used for many sports which can help them to improve their health and personality.
- Gymkhana - A gymkhana was built-in 2004 for the students. Many latest pieces of equipment are available for the students to exercise.

Kawalekar is a very knowledgeable individual and she is a Ph.D. holder. The teaching staff tries their best to define the skills of the students so that they can achieve great things in their respective fields. why i chose this college over other colleges i applied was the academic excellence of this college. it had the best faculties for zoology, botany and biotechnology in belgaum. the college offers a rigorous curriculum which has been updated frequently as per the rules of UGC. As it is autonomous in nature it has more control over the syllabus, assessments and academic calender. the faculty in this college has garnered a reputation of being highly experienced. the admission process was quiet simple and counselling process is well structured in this college. they have no entrance exams but check the percentage of class 10th and 12th. if the student has got above 50% then they are eligible for admission in this college.

The admission process is easy, any one can do this, the faculties help if we encounter any problems. The student have compulsory 60% or above in there 12th and 10th to get admission in this college. The application form is provided by the college office itself.

The college is great. I came to the college and filled the admission form and paid the fees at the college bank called as rani channama bank which is located just outside the college. Since I came from goa I have to change the state of education so I went to rani chanamma institute which is at the kolhapur highway and there I changed the state. After changing I did my admission and currently I'm studying at raja lakhamagouda science institute of belgaum, Karnataka.

There are different facilities for the students of our college. There are many positive points of our college such as abundance of placement opportunities, very feasible fee and also the campus includes library, labs, gym, hostels and crafeteria which provide a very healthy environment to all of the students.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is very well laid out is in line with the requirement of a Bachelors level course in Mathematics. The structure of examination followed by the institute is semester wise system. That is in a single year of B.Sc program a student has to to pass 2 semester examination that is the odd semester examination and even semester examination in order to proceed to the next year of study. Both practical and theoretical exams are held as a part of end semester examination.

I feel that the infrastructure and the environment of the college is very good for a student. All the facilities including the library, computer available. But college does not has college buses that is the only negative remarkable the college remaining all it has a positive remark only
