Everything is just fine here . But about the placement record of mechanical and civil, i would not prefer you this college, if you are willing to do a job. If you want to qualify gate or something, then it is a good college. If you are interested in textile then this college is best for you.

You can get admission here by two means. One by JEE MAINS and other by HPCET. If your score is 115+ you can get mechanical here.

Course here is good. I would rate it around 7/10. Here in HPTU we are made to focus more on the theory rather going practical. Research is not up to the mark. I would not prefer my college if you want to research on something. We have labs here but not up to the mark.

No, college does not provide any internship however in the 5th semester we are supposed to attend a 45 days internship programme. The whole thing is sponsored by our college. You get rs125 / day . I have got rs5250 for my training. The training expirience was awesome.

Placement and job opportunity in our college is not up to the mark. Being a Mechanical student , i don't see any placement in a good company related to our branch. Although we have a lot of gate qualifiers every year. In textile and ECE we have a good placement record with 100 pc placement in textile who complete their degree.

We have generally three main events at our college. 1. TWASK the three days annual cultural fest of JNGEC very much famous. (War of band, dances , singing , DJ night , starlight). 2. DECIBLE , THE ANNUAL TECHNICAL FEST, 3. CHAKRAVYUH , the annual sports fest.

The fee structure is very much feasible. For general seats fees is about 25-28k per semester. For BPL families, fees is about 10k per semester. For single girl child, there is no tution fee. For other girls the fee is same i.e 10k only. So i don't think it's expensive.

I am getting a scholarship of Rs 3.6k per year. I know this is not enough but it is offered to almost every student of JNGEC who fills the scholarship form.

Campus life is just awesome. The location of the college is a hill top so the best view from here can be seen. Gender ratio is also fine. About 60:40 ratio (boys:girls). For extra curricular activities we have different clubs like music club sports club, literary club, deco club. We have Table tennis facility.

Sorry guys , we don't have any hostels facility right now. The hostel buildings are right now under construction. Thus we don't have any mess facility. Although we have a college canteen. Food is OK. Not that much bad. But if you expecting much of fast food then this is not your place.

Yes all the seniors are very friendly to the juniors. They are very much helpful for exams preparations. We share notes with each other.

We have 2 mid term exams on the basis of which we get internals out of 50 marks. Labs also count about 50 marks in total. Then we have exams of 100 marks each. Each semester is about 1000-1100 marks in total. The results are announced within two months after the exams are over.

I appeared in JEE MAINS In 2013. I scored 116 marks and cutoff for mechanical was around 115. You have to fill the HPTU counselling form which is available in any polytechnic of himachal Pradesh. Then attend the counselling at Baru hamirpur. Counselling may be carried out for about 3 rounds and one spot round (at sundernagar only). You can get the textile branch if you have scored around 70-80.

I am a student of mechanical so i can only tell you about the Mechanical staff. We have the best teachers of HPTu here in the mechanical branch. All teachers are MTech from renowned NIT's and iit's. All are very much comparative. For other branch, we have got new commissioned faculty this year only.
