Remarks

The admission process was very smooth. First I completed the application and after that, an PI was done by the respective Schools. If you haven't given JEE, RGU conducts their own entrance exam for the BTech courses.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I studied the course because the future is more data-oriented than we think. Our batch has almost 40% of females. The teaching method is very good The Teachers were very helpful and humble. The exams were very ofter during our years.

Internships Opportunities

4

I did a scholarship with Govt of India's student scholarship program in Guwahati. I got 10k per month as a stipend. Most of my batchmates got opportunities for internships at that time. Mostly got below 20k per month.

Placement Experience

4

I got my job at Wells Fargo from the placement cell. Various companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Wipro, and HCL come to our campus. Almost 50% of my batchmates got their placements before the degree. Our placement cell is very good.

Fees and Financial Aid

RGU is one of the most affordable Universities in the NE region. The scholarship program helps students very much. I studied my course with the help of the scholarship program. Campus jobs what are those!!

Campus Life

4.5

Our university has various types of sports that you can choose to play. I played mostly football and cricket. Inter-university competition is also be held at our university in 2019. Rather than those mentioned sports, there are various indoor sports that you can play at the university

Interview Experience

4.5

RGU is the most all-around University from my point of view. RGU provides extracurriculars related to academics. In my last term, our school held mock interviews to prepare us for the placement that's come to our university.

Placement Experience:

As per our seniors and professors, placements are quite good here. EIE (Electronics and Instrumentation), CSE, EE and ECE have more IT sector jobs, ME and CE have scope for core jobs but a high CGPA is required for them, and that's why mostly people go for tech companies after maintaininig a decent CGPA of >= 7.5, could change to >= 8 in the following years. Many poeple got for civil services, GATE and other competitive exams, some go for further studies: national and foreign both. Highest placement would be around 50 LPA for some tech company and average would be 10-11 LPA. Students get eligible for campus placement in the 4th year, subject to having no active backlogs, and having an CGPA >=7.5 as of yet. In the third year, everyone must complete an internship, being it indsutrial or research based. It is recommened for 2 internships in these 4 years. My plans are to sit for placements in the core sector, and do a lot of thigs all together so let me see what happens, we'll change accordingly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is btech and since it is an IIT the faculty are the best in their fields profs here have done PhD from Stanfords of the world and the prof-student ratio is very healthy. Although there are a lot of exams in the ballpark weekly one or the other exam will be there and the exams are very tough but grading is relative.

Remarks:

Rather than positive remarks, I would give more negative remarks about this college. It could satisfy it's students neither through placement nor through any personality development. Some of the heads of some departments are so ignorant towards student's problems.
