Remarks

Eligibility is that you must have scored at least 55% in your intermediate. The application form goes live on the portal of the University after your 12th exam. Fees for admission are minimal i.e 6500. If you belong to any reserved caste you will definitely get relaxed in cutoffs. (OBC gets atleast 5-6% relaxations and SC/ST gets at least 10-15%)

I choose Geography to prepare for UPSC and prepare for optional. Students are increasing each year in the course. There's a surge of 30% students now as compared to last year. Teaching methods are offline and Smart Classes based. Faculty teachers are Doctorate. DU never delays its term exams. They are always on time. And you will get enough time to study between two papers.

After the 4th sem, you are eligible for placements. Many companies enrol for registration. And placements are done in companies like DELLOITE, FIS and many more. Packages are nearly between 5 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Compare to private universities these days, the fees of DU are very less. It's only 6000 to 7000 per year. If there's any kind of hike in fees it's not more than 200 or 400 rupees. It's affordable for anyone.

Campus Life

Geography every year conducts its annual fest named SHRISHTI in the months of March and April. The library has every book that is needed to study a particular subject. Classrooms have Projectors, Boards, AC and good seating availability.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

THE SRCC OF EVENING COLLEGES

I personally preferred an evening college compared to the off campus colleges nd somewhere i feel that my descision was correct. In future I'll be preparing for government examinations so for that matter evening timings are better for me as compared to morning. According to the scores which i got, this is the best college I could get and m very much happy about it. Being in the evening shift i made freinds from the morning shifts as well and at the end i realized that it's all same. Admission in Delhi University is purely merit based of CUET. One can take admission in this college by writing CUET exam and scoring certain marks for it. The application process was long and thorough. Select a cource, fill credentials, write CUET, and score good marks then prepare the preference list rightly and you'll get college based on your marks.
