Remarks

When I passed my 12 boards exam in 2020 there were admissions based on the cutoff(12th standard percentage). I got lucky to have a percentage that can get me a good college at Delhi University. I had many options at that time to get into different colleges. After analyzing the cutoff I contact my elder brother who did his all higher studies at Delhi University and he told me about his campus experience at his and different other colleges one of his friends was from Motilal Nehru college and I contact him and get to know about campus, faculty, societies, sports, environment of the area, most importantly the ground and the political activities, etc which made me much excited. In the end, I had 3 options, and finally, after a discussion, I had selected the mlnce and now I'm in 2nd year and enjoying and learning in my college life.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I studied humanities in my +2 standard and also I'm a UPSC aspirant and heard much about the history faculty of this college. I want to study economics but I didn't have it in my 12th so I took political science which is pretty much understanding and helpful in my preparation.

Fees and Financial Aid

One more important thing which attracted me to select this college was the fee structure which is no doubt much less compared to another college. 7.5k yearly is affordable to many students easily. Some day ago I came across to know about scholarships and different internship cells which is working with students for them. I'm pretty sure that I will make it in the upcoming days.

Campus Life

4

Delhi University is famous for its fests, socities, diversity, programs, and events. I'm a part of 3 societies in my college sometimes I want to be part of every society after seeing the love In family and different events but I have to look into my studies too. No doubt fests in my college are one of the most famous at DU. Recently we conduct different competitions, live performances, etc. I have already mentioned that sports in my college are on the top of that table. My college has ac blocks good lighting in the rooms, and many gardens flowers, etc which is looking gorgeous at sunset. We run societies pages on Instagram like Manzil, Chitrangini, Iris, etc .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
