Remarks
Admission is based on the marks obtained in NEET-UG. State governments prepare a merit list based on neet results and conduct counselling based on this. The application form is available on the official website of the director of medical education in Assam. Reservation is given to the students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC EWS, and PD Categories.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose the course because I want to be a psychiatrist. My class has around 200 students. The faculty-student ratio is 1:25. All the faculty are doctors. They teach theory in the lecture halls and clinical knowledge in the hospital clinics. The semester exams are conducted every 3 months, University conduct professional exams during March.
Fees and Financial Aid
The admission fee is around 30k. Every month we have to pay mess dues of 3k. Also, the cost of books and uniforms is around 20k. We also have to pay fees for buses. We also get scholarships from the national scholarship portal. I do get a scholarship worth 70k per year.
Campus Life
The annual fest's name is SYNCHYSIS. It's conducted during the month of November. We invite famous Bollywood singers during the fest. The library is situated in a peaceful place and almost all medical books are available in the library. Many students are involved in organisations like NMO and FFE INDIA TRUST. OTHERS is involved in the sports club.
Hostel Facilities
I belong to hostel 7. There is a separate hostel for boys and girls. The rooms in the hostel are very clean and we have both single and double bedrooms. The foods provided in the mess are of average quality. The hostel is allotted by the college authority. Nearby PG and rented rooms are available easily but they are costly.
