Remarks

Good college with well-maintained structures. Surrounding is suitable for students. The library is attached to the core building thus helping students to study whenever they want. Experienced faculty members.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are in sem exams and an end sem exam after 6months of class. In sems are easy to pass, but the end sems are quite hard. There are compartmental exams for those who failed the semester exams within 45 days after the results are declared.

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are mostly eligible in the last year. The average package is 40k. There should be a good CGPA for seating in a placement. Companies are mostly from outside of the state. After getting the degree I should go for Mtech most preferably.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure for 1st sem is around 5k and 1st year is around 1lac. It is quite expensive in comparison to other universities in the state. National Scholarships can be applied by the students and also regional scholarships are also available.

Campus Life

The university conducts cultural nights on the last day of Sports Week. Tech fests are also conducted once a year. Classrooms are well equipped with modern teaching accessories. The students can get into NSS or NCC groups.

Hostel Facilities

Boys hostels are near the departments. But the girl's hotels ate are at a distance. Boys' hotels are not up to mark. But the girl's hostels are good and also with proper security. Nearby PG is also not upto mark.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education
