Remarks :
The admission process was a little complicated as I was new to college. In my college, there was no entrance exam for admission. I submitted various college forms and Mumbai university forms in the initial stage. Then after I got shortlisted and got selected. We had around 71% cutoff in 3rd list for my course. All documents submitted to date given by the college and paid my fees through Demand Draft. We had a reservation facility and I applied through Gujarati minority which is available in somaiya. In my opinion admission process was good overall maybe the documentation should be lowered by the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum seems to be old but the topics are well structured. We have a lot of teachers for different courses. The professors of our course are very humble and explain all things very clearly. Teachers try to cover all syllabi on time so no topic is left untouched. All teachers are qualified and have good experience except a few teachers. Exams were easy this time due to covid and exams were delayed a bit, but it usually happens as per timetable given by Mumbai university.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The cost to study is quite low for the BCom course but high if done with specialization in it. So the fee structure on average was 15- 20 thousand for 1 year. Any student from another state has to bear various miscellaneous expenses so more cost to study for him/her. I did not opt for any scholarship so I have no idea but our college has such a facility. We get placement through college for jobs or internships and I got one internship in a private firm LERNOVATE for 3 months where I did admin work for them.
Campus Life :
College life is everyone's best phase of life, so as to mine as we have a great campus with lots of other different colleges in it and lots of canteens. We have many different playgrounds for different kinds of sports and students are allowed to participate in any sport they like. Our fest is Utkarsh and one of the best memories is created during fests, cultural forum guys do a lot of hard work to make the fest successful and they gain so much knowledge of teamwork, coordination, and management. The classrooms are very good and airy with comfortable sittings. We also have a library which is full of amazing books I used to go to when we have no lectures,
