Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum I choose is commerce si because I found it more relevant and it's so easy to learn in college understand each aspects of it. I get to understand real life examples by this curriculum and business related studies, and banking related studies like e banking services by bank , form filling, fd rates etc I will suggest that teachers should make the students go on a real visits to many places for example bank (that my teacher took me to ) But there should be more numbers of visit to real places related to the particular subject. Exams that are for 80 marks get 3 hour duration which is normal but 100 marks exam should get 3 and half hour because it's more difficult and lengthy for students. So instead of 3 hour for 100 marks paper college must give atleast 15 minutes extra

Fees and Financial Aid

My college fees is 2180. There is maintainance and keeping fees of rs 1000 and board fees of rs.675 The other category students fees such as SC and ST get their fees deducted as per the available concessions. Somaiya scholarship merit list is provided and it is for eligible students based on their percentage and income of family.

Campus Life

5

There are many events and they are mostly based on the day of celebration for example garba day then teachers day then children's day. Additional events are also provided such as aura show event , traditional day , bollywood day, farewell etc. Library is the best part it helps so much with all the books available and it's so learning friendly and so quiet for students to study. Campus is the best part for sports and everything example tennis, volleyball, even running. Students get many opportunities to put a stall outside college and are availed to create social groups to run events within and outside the college. This helps student experience real life experience.

Admission

I applied for S.I.E.S college of science, arts and commerce, Mumbai and kj Somaiya college of science, arts, and commerce. But i got confirmation in sk somaiya college. So I choose this college over others i Waited for this college because I heard many fascinating thing about this college. Other college like kj somaiya i didn't get admission because of percentage eligibility there was more cutoff comparatively. The eligibility of my college is minimum 80% above percentage and exams such as ssc board then CBSE board are required, if talking about experience I had a very mid experience because I didn't took all the required documents and i had to run to xerox place but one thing is good that the xerox place was available in the college itself . Admission process depends on you and your experience.

Faculty

4

As i already mentioned faculty as my dislikes i will say the student and faculty relationship is not so good as compared to the teachers. Faculty is provided in college enough for the students as per ratio. But I like one of the faculty very much his name is Vijay , he mostly handles the maths department and that floor (2nd ). The reason I like him is that he is very cooperative and always behaves sweetly. The faculty i don't like is a female I don't remember her name but she is always very rude and always offensive to the students. There are 4 exams and exams are mostly moderate to difficult and ofcourse it's based on how much you've studied. And course is very relevant and easy to understand.

Night Life

5

There are many canteens and college and they are top canteens because maintenance is best , public areas is so cleaned and very very soothing and relaxing for us after a hectic class, library is the best as already mentioned. Hostel is also there for the students who want to pursue higher studies and alone studies so they don't have to search for a alone place. Campus is open for only students and from 5:00 am to 12:00 am. Famous place is the engineering canteens and then the statue place and then the maggie house of our college and many more. The place is very safe to roam at night even alone at night .

Placement Experience:

Placements start from final year. Students become eligible in 7th sem. Training sessions begin earlier. Aptitude and coding practice provided. Mock interviews are also conducted. Preparation quality depends on effort. Many service based firms visit. Some product companies also come. Roles include developer and analyst. Support and testing roles common. Core jobs limited for some branches. Multiple offers for top performers. Average package is moderate level. Top packages go to few students. Around half students get placed. Others find off campus jobs. Internships improve placement chances. My plan is skill based job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

That aspect that made me choose this course that the it very oriented with the project based learning which prepare students for the industry level knowledge and ready for the job . It really prepare for the real world problem which are needed in the industry. Some improvements can also be added as the era is of AI the curriculum can be shaped based on the AI for future proof. The frequency of the exam is every 6 months it is very good to have exams every 6 months as students get to check their knowledge on timely basis the difficultly level is manageable.
