IIST Review

IIST is a very good institute for the Aerospace program as the college is very popular for its education standards and the college is also among the best engineering college in India. I was able to grab my seat during the counselling and I was shortlisted on behalf of my JEE score and was allowed admission. We have to fill the admission form from the college website and pay an online fee through the generated challan during the filling of the admission form.

The curriculum of the college was recently updated to meet all the latest technological changes and as per the latest industrial standards and international bylaws. The curriculum of the program is a mixture of theory and practical knowledge. The faculty of the college is also very experienced and highly qualified. The faculty is aware of their standards and they guide us to develop our personalities. The faculty are not only of PhD standards but also have very good experience in research activity and a very good industrial exposure which is very beneficial for us.

The internship program of the college is very good as the maximum of my batch mates participated in ISRO for the internship. We can also opt for an off-campus internship as the on-campus internship program does not have a stipend facility. But being part of ISRO for the internship is really a very good learning experience.

The placement of the college is decent but the college maintains a record of 100% placement. ISRO is one of the major recruiter of the college. ISRO, ISAC Bengaluru, Tata Consultancy Services, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Viz Experts, Analog Devices, Mercedes Benz are the major recruiters of the college. The highest placement offer goes up to 11 LPA and the average salary package is around 7.50 LPA. The college placement committee is very professional and cooperative and they really support us during the college placemtn drive.

The college provides scholarship on a merit basis and scholarship for SC/ST/PWD is also available. The college also has an education loan facility and the admission department fully cooperates during the education loan process. The college complete course fee is around 5 lakh and the average salary placement offers is around 7.50 LPA which is good as a comparison the college fee and the highest salary packages range up to 12 LPA so the return on investment is almost double.

The college infrastructure is very well maintained. The college also has a medical facility on the campus. The research laboratories of the college are high-end and all kinds of equipment are available for research and project activity we also have the opportunity to perform various types of experiments on the college campus. The college library is the source of knowledge we have all kinds of books related to space technology in the library. All the library books are also available in the form of E-Books also. The computing facility in the college is also very good the computer system is not only latest but the hardware and system are up to date. The college also organises the IIST cricket league which is a very good event for the cricket lover and badminton competitions are also organised on the campus.

The hostel is very well maintained. The rooms are fully furnished equipped with beds, almirahs, and a study table for everyone and the rooms are is also properly ventilated. The hostel mess food quality is good and the menu is vast. The hostel wardens are professional. 24 hours of the medical facility is available and a doctor and a nurse are available on the hostel campus. The hostel also has 24 hours of water and power supply.
