Remarks
Starting engineering education from an IIT is like dream come true for every person like me. To be part of IIT college we have to work very hard in academics and prepare properly for JEE. I have also worked hard and secured good marks in my academics but my JEE score was not for top IITs like IIT Bombay or IIT Madras but I was able to meet the cutoff criteria of IIT Jammu. The college is very good and the college placement is also very good B.Tech is the flagship course of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the college is the latest and flexible which means the curriculum is regularly updated to meet industry guidelines. The college curriculum properly syncs with the real-world scenario. The curriculum provides us with deep knowledge of computer programming, the importance of computer coding and technology. The faculty is also very good. The college does not compromise with the quality of the faculty. The faculty has very good research experience and industrial exposure which is very beneficial for us. The faculty is always eager to share their knowledge and experiences with us.
Internships Opportunities
The college internship program is good and we can take part in the college internship program after completing the three years of our program. We have to register our details with the college placement committee so that committee is aware of our internship program. The internship is a very good learning experience for us. The average stipend for the internship is approx 45k.
Placement Experience
We were among the first batch of the college to take part in the college placement drive. The college was able to achieve the 100% placement mark. The college placement committee has played a very important role during the college placement drive. Our details are already registered with the college placement committee and they help just to get places in the company as per our interest. The highest package for our batch was around 40 LPA and the average salary package was approx 15 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
As a comparison to other IIT colleges in India, the IIT Jammu college fee is quite reasonable around 5.25 lakh for the B.Tech program. The college provides good placement packages around average salary package is approx 12 to 15 LPA which is a very good return on investment. The college also provides scholarships on a merit base and scholarship plus financial aid is also available for SC/ST. Campus Life
Technectus is the college technical fest where we get an opportunity to show our innovative skills and Renao is the cultural fest of the college. The college seniors and administrative staff are very friendly. The campus is located in a very beautiful scenic location. The college library is the house of many national and international bestseller books and international journals are also available that are helpful for us during our assignment work.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is very well maintained. The rooms are big and properly ventilated. The room is available on double accommodation basis. The hostel mess food quality is good and the menu is very vast and elaborative. The hostel wardens and the staff is very cooperative and friendly. The hostel has 24 hours f water and power supply. The hostel has all kinds of basic facilities for us. The hostel also provides us with high-speed WiFi connectivity for the internet facility.
