Remarks

I found the application form from BCKV's website and all details like application fees, application dates were available in the website. The admission process was based on number we got in 10+2 course.

Course Curriculum Overview

All the professors and Assistant professors are well qualified, most of them completed their PhD in their respective subjects. Their method of teaching is good and the infrastructure of the university is good but in the extended Campuses, there is a lack of many facilities.

Class Size: 300Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many companies like Flipkart get internship opportunities and give a stipend of rs 5000/month. The internship programmes are not preferable because they are not only for Agriculture students, in the past many companies used to come but now very less companies come.

Placement Experience

From 8th semester the Student is eligible for placement but most of the students prefer higher studies. The average salary is not enough so most of the students go for govt jobs, they take prepration for IBPS AFO,ADA,WBCS.

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fees we have to give in every 6 months is 7075 rs. We have to spend 3000 rs in a month on food. 3 years ago the semester fees were low but now it hiked. We get an SVMCM scholarship to carry on our studies.

Campus Life

There is only Badminton and volleyball court on the Bankura campus but on the main campus cricket and football field is also available. Annual fest occurs every year. There is a Facebook page available that is run by our seniors.

Hostel Facilities

Table,chair, almirah and bed is provided in the hostel room. Lights and fans work fine. The quality of the meal is avarage. We have to give rs 3000 as caution money after registration in hostel. The locality is calm and silent and good for study, there is no disturbance.

Hostel Fee: INR 36000 per year

I chose this subject because competition for job in this sector is not so high. It's easy to get a job after complete this course. As I say earlier semester examinations are the main examination. The examination is not so hard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Seat limit has been decreased into a little amount.So, getting chance is more difficult .there are 3 faculties agriculture, horticulture, agriculture engineering.In agriculture faculty so many departments are there ,but seat limit is less.In total seat,80%is for domicile students of West Bengal and 20%for icar accredited university students.In that 80% 70% for university home students and 10% for rest of the domicile students.

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..

BCKV, a place to cherish forever.

You have to secure good percentage in Higher Secondary and clear the cutoff (More than 90%) to get into UG. You have to clear cutoff of University exams to get into PG/PhD. Eligibility is 12th with P+C+B or vocational with related subjects from any board. Students can also get admission from ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam. Application forms are available on the official website of the university ( https://bckv.edu.in ) when the application portal is opened. The date varies from time to time, generally, the application starts after the result of the 12th board exam is published. Yes, there are reservations for SC ST OBC students, General EWS students also get the benefit of reservation. In each semester there is one midterm one practical evaluation and one final end term for each course in a semester. Difficulty level is moderate.
