Remarks

One of the famous research universities of India is IIT Kharagpur. Research on science and its various aspects is done from time to time here by PhD scholars and professors. I choose this IIT over others hoping for a different perspective in the course as compared to the others. The admission criteria for B.Tech is score in JEE advanced and interview round in the counselling session. I paid registration fee of Rs. 400 online along with form submission.

Course Curriculum Overview

Out of all the engineering colleges, i found the course structure of this IIT the best. Subjects being taught to us are in accordance with the latest environment and the elective chosen by the student. Till now, there has been no guest speaker invited on the campus but a lot of seminars and workshops are conducted to ignite the skill development among students. The level of examinations clearly depicted the level of an IIT.

Course Fees: INR 82679 per year

Placement Experience

The recent placements organized at the campus observed some of the marvelous results in the history of IIM. 100 companies participated and 1600 placement offers were made to the candidates. Rs. 2.4 CPA was observed as the highest CTC. Qualcomm, Microsoft, IBM, Google were the top recruiters of the week. Around 35 international offers were received. Software, Analytics were the major recruiting sector.

Fees and Financial Aid

Rs. 3.27 is the entire fee for this course including tuition fee, exam fee, registration fee, and some other charges. Hostel charges are extra. An array of scholarships are provided to the students on a full-time basis. Merit Cum Means Scholarship, Private Scholarships, B.P. Poddar Scholarships, Kumud Manorama Scholarship, K.K. Agarwal Memorial Scholarship, Madan Sundar Sahu Lal Memorial Scholarship are the scholarships available for B.Tech students.

Campus Life

I heard a lot of stories about the campus life of IIT Kharagpur and till now I have been able to enjoy only a few months due to the pandemic. I have attended some seminars online and participated in online competitions as well. The campus is surrounded by lush green gardens and trees which makes the spot in the garden a perfect place for hangout. I am sincerely hoping that soon college reopens and I get to stay on the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
