IIT Kharagpur Review

IIT Kharagpur is India's 5 best engineering colleges ranked by NIRF. During my research, I found that college faculty are very popular, and the college provides a good opportunity for research work and project activity. After all who would miss the opportunity to complete their degree from such a world-class institute. After clearing the GATE I immediately applied for COAP counselling so that I could not miss any chance and I feel my selfy lucky enough to meet the cutoff criteria of the M.Tech program. After completing all the counselling process I was allotted a seat in college and I immediately froze the seat.

The college is itself popular for its educational standards. The plus point of the curriculum is that the intellectual environment of the college is fantastic. We are provided with research opportunities and project work activities. As per my experience, I will say that the curriculum of the college was as per the international industrial standards.

The internship is mandatory and we are eligible to complete our internship after completing the first year of our program. We have to register our name with the placement committee for an internship. If anyone of is involved in any kind of research or project work activity can skip the internship by submitting the relevant document to the placement committee. Around 26+ companies visited our campus for the internship program.

The college placement standards are very good and the college has a record of 100% placement. The college placement committee is very hardworking and they really do a commendable job in helping us to get placed. If we want to take part in the placement process we have to register our name with the placement committee and they make sure that every one of us is placed as per our interest and stream. Around 100+ companies visit our campus during the college placement drive. The highest package was around 1 CPA and the average salary package was around 14.30 LPA.

Scholarship on a merit basis is available and scholarship for SC/ST/PWD is also available. SC/ST are exempted from the tuition fees. IIT Kharagpur is the largest IIT in India its spread over 2100 acres of land and is the house of more than 22000 people and the campus is culturally diversified. It gives us a good opportunity to learn about the different cultures. The college provides a good environment for learning and a good opportunity for research and project work. The college labs are ultra-high-tech and fully modern and equipped with the latest tools and research materials. The library is the house of many international books and international journals.

The hostel infrastructure is well maintained. The rooms are very well maintained and kept clean. The rooms are cleaned on daily basis. The hostel mess food is good and hygenic. The food is cooked in a hygenic space. The hostel provides a WiFi facility on the hostel campus. The LAN cable connectivity is also available in the rooms. The hostel facilities for us is very good and we are provided with all kinds of basic and modern facilities ae per our needs. The wardens are cooperative and the hostel decorum is well maintained.

The faculty of the college are very hardworking and the faculty is very knowledgeable. The faculty is of PhD level and with good research work experience from the top class universities of India and abroad. Most of the faculty members' research work is published in international journals.
