NIT Hamirpur Review

NITs are one of the best engineering colleges in India and are quite popular for their engineering programs in different departments. NIT Hamirpur is also a popular college for the CSE program. The CSE is the flagship program of the college which is why I have decided to be part of NIT Hamirpur as the cutoff list is also not too high of the college and the college also provide good placement for M.Tech and B.tech program. During my research, I was looking for NIT Hamirpur, NIT Srinagar, NIT Patna but NIT Hamirpur topped my list. As NIT Hamirpur suits my preference good placement for M.Tech, a good faculty ratio, good college infrastructure and good research opportunities and project work. To be part of NIT Hamirpur I have to clear the GATE exam that I already did and must secure a minimum of 60% marks in the related discipline. My academic record was totally according to the requirement of the college so I applied for admission to NIT Hamirpur through COAP counselling. The admission process of the college is very smooth. I have to fill the admission form through the college official website.

The curriculum of the program properly sync with the real world scenario and follow the latest industrial standards. The curriculum focuses on the coding aspect and the technical aspect. The curriculum is a blend of theoretical and practical knowledge. The curriculum is designed to develop our analytical and decisions making abilities through the case study, class mock practices, class quizzes and industrial visits etc.

The internship is mandatory and we are eligible for the internship program after completing the first year of our program. The college placement committee is helpful and provides us with a list of companies that are taking part in the college internship program. The college internship program gives us an opportunity to work with the best industry leaders and helps to understand the working style of the corporate world. The stipends depend according to the tenure of the internship usually the internship tenure is of 7-8 weeks and the stipends start from Rs. 20000/- to Rs. 1,25,000/- according to the company we are opting for an internship.

The college has a good placement record and the college provides good placement opportunities for the CSE program. The college placement committee is very dedicated and professional and they know how to attract market leaders for placement. The college committee helps us throughout the placement process and guides us so that we can get selected. The highest package for our batch was around 42 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Reliance Jio, IBM, Maruti Suzuki, Oracle, Adobe, Bloomberg, Amazon, Paytm, Samsung, Mathworks, Texas Instruments, etc visited the campus during the college placement drive.

The college also provides scholarship on a merit basis and scholarship for SC/ST/PWD is also available. The campus life of the college is friendly and fun. The seniors and the administrative staff of the college are very friendly. The college organises the fests like Hill fair is the cultural fest that is organised in the month of October and Nimbus is the technical fest that is organised in the month of April. The college library is full of books from many authors around the world we can also find international journals in the library.

The hostel rooms are big and spacious. The hostel is well maintained and properly cleaned. The rooms are cleaned on daily basis. The hostel wardens and the hostel staff is very professional. The mess food quality is good and the menu is also very vast. The hostel has 24 hours of power supply and high-speed internet connectivity through WiFi. LAN cable connection is also available in the rooms of the hostel. Generally, the hostel is equipped with all kinds of facilities according to our comfort.

The faculty of the college is very popular for its professional etiquette. The faculty of the college is of PhD level with good experience in research work and industrial exposure which is very helpful for us. The faculty are eager to share their knowledge and expertise with us.
