Remarks

Best thing about college is that NIT hamirpur has very less work load so that one can continue to learn new skills which can help him in the second year of dissertation and also for the PhD or campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview

Doing my research in Image processing and Communication system and network was the best option for me. Also, the faculty is very supportive?ÛÓespecially Dr Ramesh Sharma, who was my supervisor for my master's work.

Placement Experience

Since I want to pursue my phd so I never paid much attention to the campus placements. But NIT hamirpur provides a very good opportunity for everyone to grab placement. Only thing is that PG students have to compete with UG students for placements and there is no special recruitment drives for PG students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are gate qualified, you get a 12400 per month MHRD scholarship, which can easily cover your college fees and hostel charges. This scholarship is given to do Teaching Assistance work in a department like helping supervisor with lab work.

Campus Life

NIT Hamirpur has a vast diversity of different cultures. So one can learn a lot about other culters. Also NIT Hamirpur organise annual fest Hillfair and tech fest Nimbus. You can take part in these fest's and enjoy them

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are okay. Since this is very old NIT so all hostels have very old structure. But you can assume that you will get all the basic amenities. Mess food is also kind of okay not that tasty but still okay.

My experience of NIT HAMIRPUR.

Placement Experience:

Final-year students are eligible for campus placement. PGCIL and L&T are the companies that came for the Electrical and Mechanical branches. Some oil companies also came with an average package of 10 LPA. More than 80% of students were placed. I was placed as an Assistant Professor and I want to continue my future in teaching.

The college completely stands on the legacy of the IITs as the college offer good placement opportunity and very good placement packages offers. The college placement committee works as the support system and motivates us during the time of the college placement drive. The college has a record of 100% placement with the highest salary offer was 25 LPA and the average salary offer of around 15 LPA. Google, Microsoft, Samsung Bangalore, Adobe, Walmart, Paytm, Amazon, etc are the names of some companies that took in the college placement drive.

It is great because the College management system is Eco-friendly to avoid paper-based data and use this college management software. This is all in one software which includes record maintains starting from inquiry handling, student registration, till student gets passed out of the college.

NIT Hamirpur(College love)

No other college can match the awesomeness level of this NIT. Moreover its ranked number 2 in most beautiful college. Its a remote place a bit but every hill station of Himachal Pradesh is in reach from here. Can't say about the food in other mess but here in First year hostel mess the food is just like home made.
