Remarks

Best thing about college is that NIT hamirpur has very less work load so that one can continue to learn new skills which can help him in the second year of dissertation and also for the PhD or campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview

Doing my research in Image processing and Communication system and network was the best option for me. Also, the faculty is very supportive especially Dr Ramesh Sharma, who was my supervisor for my master's work.

Placement Experience

Since I want to pursue my phd so I never paid much attention to the campus placements. But NIT hamirpur provides a very good opportunity for everyone to grab placement. Only thing is that PG students have to compete with UG students for placements and there is no special recruitment drives for PG students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are gate qualified, you get a 12400 per month MHRD scholarship, which can easily cover your college fees and hostel charges. This scholarship is given to do Teaching Assistance work in a department like helping supervisor with lab work.

Campus Life

NIT Hamirpur has a vast diversity of different cultures. So one can learn a lot about other culters. Also NIT Hamirpur organise annual fest Hillfair and tech fest Nimbus. You can take part in these fest's and enjoy them

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are okay. Since this is very old NIT so all hostels have very old structure. But you can assume that you will get all the basic amenities. Mess food is also kind of okay not that tasty but still okay.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. Beautiful Campus

The admission process was quite rough. First we have to take part in counciling and after that we got a seat acceptance letter we got a sit in that other round otherwise repeat. Than we have to do online submission of documents. After this a physical reporting to ensure correctness of documents. We also have to pay seat acceptance fees and some amount of admission fees to secure our seats.
