Entrance Preview

This college is affiliated to GGSIPU and an aspirant has to clear CAT for the same. I had got 681 rank and getting MBICEM was not easy on this rank. Being on the top of the best colleges offering Journalism course, MBICEM was what I wanted On the second counselling day, the reserved seats were open for general and thats when I got my luck and enrolled in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course has been vast covering almost all aspects of Journalism and mass media! From print media, to digital media, from photography to reporting editing n film making, MBICEM did everything right for us.

Internships Opportunities

Frankly there were no internships that were offered from the college. Stipend was a distant dream. Using my very own personal contacts, I got into The Times of India, Hindustan Times and more and have a great experience I had working there.

Placement Experience

2

I got a good package from The iStrat Limited based in Gurgaon but this was not campus placement at all. Have heard now the companies like new start ups of digital media agencies looking for freshers are coming ot the campus for placements, but till the time I was there there was nothing like this at all.

College Events

5

We at college and the college as well were too kicked about the latest events happening here n there. We used to organise First Frame - a film festival hosted by the college. Indulge in designing magazines, celebrating cultural events, fests and other things.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any such service par say. The fee was well into my families budget thus there was no need for a loan.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes we have regular alumni meets and the last meeting was a memorable one where one and all seniors and super seniors met and expanded our network with each other.

Exam Structure

Oh too many, There were finals, then internals and pre internals too. There wer ewritten 25 mark papers that were added to the internal final exams that were of 75 marks and in such a scenario we were giving exams every now and then killer this was.

Faculty

4

The faculty has been ever supportive and really well managed. Timely delivery of lectures and the most importantly with in depth knowledge of the market, we were taught sense and were learning something being with the subject experts.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

The placement is fine in college. It is not a bulk campus placement like in most of the engineering colleges but it is pretty decent. The one who is smart and confident enough gets it. Companies provide a decent pakage to the ones who get placed.
