MANISH BABU CHAVAN's Review On IIM Ranchi - Indian Institute Of Management, Ranchi

IIM Ranchi is the first IIM that started a dedicated course for HR Management. It has a good reputation in terms of faculty, placement, alumni achievements etc. Their faculty consists teachers with good industrial experience that comes handy in giving examples to explain various concepts. Majority of them are PhD holders. IIM Ranchi is also known for numerous Student Interest Groups (SIGs), Student clubs and committees which are active and strive to make a difference in the society, learn and help others learn about the culture of the Institute. They also participate in various National level competitions and have been successful in winning many of them which includes Case Studies,sports,Group Dance etc. The Location of this Institute is also travel friendly as it is just about 10 KM away from the Birsa Munda Airport. The weather conditions are also suitable to students coming from all kind of geographical locations.

The course syllabus is quite vast in first term and covers all the elements required to be understood to create a foundation that future managers working in most of the domains must posses. Despite the current Covid scenario, IIM Ranchi has made sure we are not missing out on any of the industrial exposure that a management aspirant deserves. Many companies like Amazon, Blackberry men's wear, Google etc have approached our institute to give an insight about their culture, requirements, expectations and available opportunities.

Many companies like Amazon, Maruti suzuki, Flipkart etc visited our company. The placements for MBA and MBA-HR students has been really good with. The highest CTC offered for an international placement was 59.36 LPA while the highest domestic package stood at Rs.26.50 LPA. The placement for MBA-HRM is also at par with the MBA placements. The alumni network of IIM Ranchi is really strong as a result of quality HRM managers graduating from here who come back as recruiters or suggest their companies to recruit from our Institute.

We haven't experienced the campus life due to the current covid scenario. The college does have a lot of Students Interest Groups (SIGs) that consists of dance,singing, crafts, Photography, Visual editing etc.

I Personally haven't been to the campus due to the Covid situation. But, IIM Ranchi operates from a temporary campus right now. The institute is located in 'Suchana Bhavan'. We do have access to e-Library and they have a dedicated staff that ensures we receive all the e-Books on time so that there is no hindrance in our study.

We haven't been to hostel personally yet.The Hostel is currently located in 'Khel Gaon', where the 2011 National games were held and consists of single entity rooms for all students, Quality playgrounds for sports and other outdoor activities. We have conversed with the seniors regarding the quality of life in terms of Infrastructure, Mess food, Internet connections, sports facilities and grounds, gyms etc. According to them all the above mentioned utilities are of supreme quality and the comfort of each individual is taken care of with utmost priority.
