My BCA at Dav, Chandigarh

The reason I have chosen DAVC for my BCA is its 11th Rank for Computer Applications by IndiaToday group in 2019. The college is a popular name under PU, Chandigarh and holds approval by UGC & accreditation from NAAC. Not just BCA but the institute offers a variety of courses across Science, Arts Commerce and Management. Admission to all UG courses at DAVC are based upon the Seat availability and Scores of applicants in previous academic years/standards.

We all know that if a student loves computers then a ton of options are available whether it's BCA, B.Tech or even B.Sc in related fields. However, after a few consultations and decisions I decided to do my graduation in BCA and I was very happy with the exposure I've gained towards the field till now.The 3 year course has a seat capacity of 120 students and enough teaching faculty is available to help students learn through the best ways.

Good internships are there at BCA as various tech recruiters and industries had collaborations with DAVC and that helped students to work on high profile job roles and have the best of work environment as well as the actual pressure.

Students of BCA are among the most popular one's at DAVC because most of the recruiters in this college require good individuals for related fields. Students are eligible for Placements in the final year and they can get a great corporate exposure through this round. Overall the college has nearly 90% placement records and the average package at DAVC is also decent.

The college charges a very decent fee for all its Courses and the same for BCA. The total fee for the 3-year programme was INR 1.11 lacs and students can get further concessions/aids if they fulfill the eligibility criterias. Students have to pay this fee in annual shifts of INR 36480 in II & III year while for the I year some extra charges are added to it.

I just got to explore the campus life of DAVC for a few months and then COVID pandemic arrived and we all know how it affected our normal lives. Although a part of our campus life got waived due to the situation, Still we can't deny the fact that both facilities and events at DAVC are great. I've experienced very few of them, but the activities I have been part of were all fantastic. Our college has Clubs for Art's, Placement and Sports also which shows how much the college cares for students' overall development.

Students can pay the hostel fee in shifts or even in the commencement if they want to. The hostel accommodation as well as mess both charged a total of INR 85,000 and those wishing to get AC rooms have to pay additional charges.The institute gives good opportunities to keep students busy with activities related to Sports or extracurricular things. I think students who belong to other cities or want to reside elsewhere then their home, the hostel of DAVC is a good option.

Students who have completed their. XII with the relevant subjects can apply for the BCA programme at DAVC but they must have scored a minimum of 50% marks. The selection of the candidates is entirely based on the Merit scored by candidates among all the applicants & also the seats.
