12th Passed out candidate can apply for the entrance exam. visit nift.ac.in for full details regarding the application process. There are reservations for obc, st, sc, and EWS candidates, they need to get a caste certificate to avail the benefits of reservation. There are two levels of exams to qualify for NIFT, first is written paper which includes gat and cat paper and second is situation test. So after qualifying for both exams you will get to know your final cut-off.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Courses they offer are : fashion design, fashion communication, leather design, accessory design, knitwear design, and textile design. The faculty of nift are very supportive and very helpful. Once you enter the campus you will love the teaching process as it is very more on the exploration. It is not very difficult to pass the semester if you submit all your assignments on time and understand and present the concept taught nicely. I have opted for knitwear design because I'm very much interested in knitted fabrics and I wanted to explore that field.
Internships Opportunities
In the 4 years duration students get massive opportunities to intern at the biggest companies, all you need is a good portfolio to present to the company which nift teaches to build in. Some internship will be paid and some won't but you need to look for the company which matches up to your interest and knowledge.
Placement Experience
Massive companies visit the campus for placement and the students who have completed their 4 years are eligible for placement. Students need to have a very good cgpa for grabbing the opportunity. They must be students from 8 cgpa and above. most of the students tend to start their own label after finishing their 4-year course at nift and some students fly abroad for their master program.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost for the study is a bit high which is 3 lakh per year but u can always apply for a scholarship which is especially for the upliftment of the financially weaker students of nift. You need to have certain paper requirements to get the scholarship then you will have an interview round with the faculty of the college. Campus Life
Campus life is the best life you will experience at nift. There are clubs like cultural, social, sports, film and photography and teams are rouge, Dhara, salt where you can get yourself in and became an important part in conducting events. There is a fest-like spectrum that is held in the college and everyone participates freely. Clubs are there to build up all the hidden qualities you have. There is no restriction on what you wanna explore in the club.
