Excellent experiences of campus life

To take admission in Dr. SSB UICET one must have to clear JEE MAINS exam. Cut off is usually around 84000 for the Chemical course and other courses include food technology and chemical+mba (their cutoff is more around 1 lakh). To apply to this college one has to apply in JAC counseling and you can mention the colleges as per your preference. There are a total of 3 rounds followed by the spot round. There is a special sports quota for the students as well.

I tend to choose this course because chemical industries have a great scope in near future. Moreover, this is the course which is not known to many people hence the competition is less and opportunities are more. The faculty here is very good, friendly and makes the lectures worth listening to. Honestly, most of the college tenure went online so it wasn't that difficult to pass but yes teachers were very cooperative and through their guidance, I passed with a good cgpa.

For internship - Jubilant pharma visits the campus apart from this students can apply to other companies for internships like sun pharma, iocl, etc. One can get a process designer job or some other field job.

After 3rd-year students get eligible for placements Companies like Jubilant, exonn Mobil, Honeywell, reliance visit our campus. Exonn Mobil gave the highest package of 11 lakh and on an avg, the package is 5.5 lakh. % age of students getting placed is difficult to say as it varies every year. So far I want to get placed in a good company where I could grow.

For 1st 2 years, its 20,000 for chemical engg course and it gradually increases in 3rd and 4th year with 2-3000 add on. There is one Mai Partap Kaur Scholarship of Rs 200 for Chemical Engg students given for 10 months. Other than this there is financial assistance for ews category as well.

Cyanide is the annual fest of Dr. SSB UICET which is usually conducted in the month of February. Other than this various other fests are being conducted in the Panjab University such as Scitron etc. Panjab University has one central library called the A.C. Joshi Library where one can find almost any book. Other than this we have our own library also in the dept. Various societies are there which one can be a part of such as IIChe, enactus, E-cell, dance, art, music club, and various social service clubs as well.
