Course Curriculum Overview

5

It is a dream of many to become a doctor. Getting into a prestigious government college is the first step towards that goal. The faculty student ratio during normal classes is 1 teacher for the whole class but every day students are divided into further smaller batches of around 6-10 people per teacher for discussions and practicals. All professors must be MD doctors. The teachers are very skilled and qualified. The teachers incorporate digital teachings through PowerPoint presentations on the smartboard, seminars, discussions etc. PCT(part completion tests) occur weekly while there are 2 internal exams (100 marks), 1 prefinal(200 marks) and final exams(200 marks). The difficultly largely depends on the topic and subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are very nominal since this is a central government run institute. The basic fees for IP quota students are around 25-30000 and hostel fees are only 1000 rs per year. There are Telangana state scholarships availed by most state students and central government scholarships for other students with less family income. Mandatory internship for 1 year with handsome stipend is undertaken by all students after completion of course.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest was AUXESIS this year, it lasted from 12th to 20th November. While the freshers were also organised by the 2018 batch. Regular celebrations like Christmas, Halloween and competitions are also held by the student bodies. Classrooms and labs are well equipped with all instruments necessary for thorough learning, libraries are there with all books available for issue for free. Sports present on campus: cricket net, badminton courts, volleyball courts, table tennis, chess etc Also, football and cricket grounds are present nearby where the college teams go to practice. Students run all social groups from routine quizzes to handling the mess community and cultural events as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are better than most government colleges out there. For the 1st and 2nd years students have to stay in shared rooms of 2 but from 3rd year private rooms with attached washrooms are provided. The hostel fee is 1000 rs/year only. Mess food quality is average, but the committee keeps on changing so the food quality also varies. The current mess fee is 3675 rs/month. PG rooms can be rented by students in Ameerpet, S.R nagar areas.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The fact that this course provides you a very dignitorial position in society attracts me the most into it. The financial benefits are also quite impressive. The curriculum extending for 5.5 years provides you all the required knowledge to practice as a general doctor in the country. There is a total of 19 subjects for 4.5 years in total. 1 year rotatory internship in various clinical department in affiliated hospital gives you very good clinical exposure also. The internship here is stipended by ?26000-/- per month. Every year mcc is renewing the syllabus according to to demands of indian medical system. Frequency of exams are quite adjustable upto rth year. 4th year is quite hectic and tiring with syllabus.
