Qualification: The merit list is prepared on the marks of 12th board Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. The cutoff is generally very high. The average of the before mentioned subjects should be near 94. This year(2021) the cutoff is about 95 for unreserved. The total number of seats in the BCKV mohanpur campus is 117( 6 through AIEEA & 111 through normal admission). Improvement: The whole admission process takes a very long time, which can be minimized.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

To be honest, I didn't know much about the curriculum prior to my higher secondary. But after that, I consulted with some of my school seniors who were studying in BCKV. They told me that it is a very vast field to study, you can opt for it. I did some research too and took admission. Faculty: Student Ratio- With a rough estimate, there are almost 150-160 teachers in the faculty of Agriculture. A total number of students per year is around 120. Qualification of the Faculty and Teaching Method: All the teachers have done Ph.D. and have a research background. All the classrooms are equipped with modern powerpoint projectors. All the teachers have depth in their field and take interactive and interesting classes. They also provide notes whenever it is necessary. Exams: There are almost 10-11 subjects in every semester and for each subject, one has to seat for one midterm (20marks) one practical exam (30 marks) & One Endterm exam(50marks). Exams can be easily passed with regular study.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is not any specific fee hike policy. Currently, the admission fee is Rs.10,500/-. The Semester fee is ~Rs.7000/-. The cost of the study is relatively less than other courses. While studying in BCKV, you can apply for almost every scholarship which any student can apply for like SVMCM, OASIS, etc. But no student can get two government scholarships at a time. There is less on-campus job availability. Most of the campusing is meant for Master's Degree or higher students. Few companies come every year and give jobs to UG students.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest is NAIHRIT, which is usually organized every year in wintertime. One study tour is conducted in the 2nd or 3rd year. The central library of BCKV is the largest Agricultural library in eastern India. One can have access to a huge number of books. BCKV also gives access to a huge number of e-journals, e-books. The classrooms are well aerated and large enough to accommodate around 140 students at once. The classrooms are equipped with AC, fan, light and modern PowerPoint projectors, blackboard. There is a large playground on the campus where an annual sports competition takes place. Besides students play football in the afternoon. There is also a gymnasium on the campus. There is a badminton court also on the campus. There is no such social groups or website run by students.

Hostel Facilities

5

Generally, 2-3 students are to accommodate in a single room. One table, chair, rack, and bed are provided for a single student. The meal quality is good. Twice a daily meal is provided. For other foods, the canteen in every hostel is there. The registration is done on the day of physical reporting. The students have to pay a development grant and a 1st-month hostel fee on the date of boarding. The rooms are allocated by the seniors of the hostels. There are two UG hostels for boys and one hostel for girls. Raman Abas and Jagadis Abas for boys and Matangani Abas for Girls. The hostel fee is ~Rs.2000/- which is variable. So the hostel is affordable. As the affordability of the hostels are very good and BCKV is a home university, very few students opt for rented room or PG. Although if someone wants, he/she can opt for a non-hosteler. There are few rooms available near the university or Jagulia for rent.

Other Applied Colleges

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..
