An enriching experience

I have participated in multiple activities beyond the course work and it has been a very enriching experience. I will strongly recommend that students actively participate in society/department events for their personal growth.

No entrance – admission was on the basis of Class XII BO4 (Best of 4).

There are multiple papers taught in Statistics ranging from Econometrics to Biostatistics. With CBCS, students have an option to choose an additional subject for the first two years – such as Maths, Economics, Commerce, etc. This enables the students to develop expertise in complementary subjects as well.

Yes, the placement cell provides internships ranging from start-ups to industry leaders like JSW, Google, etc. Various career options are available to students such as quality control, biotechnology, market research, corporate planning, banking, consulting, data analysis, and data science.

My experience with the placement process has been positive. The placement cell conducts sessions such as CV building, interview prep, etc. and these sessions help the students enhance their profile. A bunch of companies also conduct case prep workshops, which help the candidates in their interview process.

The biggest event in our college is the annual cultural week, Tarang. LSR typically opens the fest season in Delhi University and our fest is in the first week of February. It is a national-level fest with participation from colleges across India. Departments also have their annual academic meets, in addition to other regular events.

The fee structure is available on the website. The LSR admin is always happy to answer fees / any other questions.

There is provision for loan/scholarship and there is a notice board in college via which students get updated.

LSR is an all-girls and the students come from different cultural and economic backgrounds. This provides a platform that enables 360-degree growth for the students. In addition to academics, there are a lot of societies (Dance, NCC, Music, etc.) and events throughout the year.

The Statistics department maintains an Alumni database and there are events in which the alumni visit the campus and interact with the students.

The examinations are centralized as per DU rules. For Statistics, there are practical exams as well because of the nature of the course. Practical give a real-world understanding of the classroom teachings and enhance the overall learning.

We have a dedicated team of faculty members who are experts in their field. The faculty focuses on the increasing role of Statistics in diverse areas and encourages students to take up assignments/research activities to validate the theoretical concepts. We are also taught tools like Excel and SPSS to hone our data analysis and computing skills.
