Entrance Preview

I took KEAM entrance exam, rank:4016, TKM college is second best college in India. I chose CS because I love coding. Since it was a very good college and I got my first option I have given. TKM college was my first option in the application form and computer science was opted course.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

College curriculum was good. First year we had to study all engineering subject and this made us get a brief idea about all the engineering fields. In 3 years we almost covered almost all areas of computer science and many new languages. Languages include java, CPP, C, python etc.

Internships Opportunities

College provide internship also. Every year some companies will come and students will be selected by the companies and selected students can go to the company and do a project in the company. Span of internship depends on the company. Air watch , QBurst are among these companies.

Placement Experience

4

TKM college of engineering has a very active placement cell and every year they try to bring new companies and almost 90 percent of students from cs gets placed every year. IT companies like TCS and Wipro also comes and takes around 300 students per year.

College Events

3.5

Technical and cultural festival are conducted every year in college and when we were studying in first our technical cum cultural fest conjura was conducted and this fest is very famous among all the colleges in Kerala. And we have cultural fest called rithu and it's a 3 days festival.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's feasible. Only government fee. Since I got into the college through Kerala entrance and so I just had to pay 6000 rupees per year only. Then at the time of joining I had to pay some amount of money to the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Toppers of every branch gets a scholarship every year and they get text books also provided by the college. And for bright students coming from backward family also gets scholarships.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good. Even though college is having less area it makes us easier to interact with all the students. So we come to know about students of other branches also. Gender ratio is 50:50 I think. Clubs like music club, dance club, acrobatics club are very active in college. And we have unit of NSS also.

Exam Structure

Obviously it was not chilled out. We got. 2 series exams before the university exam. Exams were conducted for both theory and labs. So these series exams and university exam we had to write at the span of 6 months. And we rarely got semester breaks. It was only one week and all. That was very hectic.

Admission

I just had to follow the allotment and after I got into this college I went and joined there. Administration was really good. After allotments came out 1 day was scheduled to go and join the college. We went to the college and admission process was really easy.

Faculty

4

We have a wonderful team of faculty in our college. All our professors are well experienced and they are very helpful in all aspects. Even in labs also we have experienced faculties and they help us in doing the lab works properly. Faculty was very helpful even when we were doing the projects also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
