Everything regarding Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran, Mohali

The admission process was simple. They provide you courses on the basis of 12th marks and if you are eligible for the course you can easily get admission in the college. It also depends on how early you are applying for college. They have limited seats on this particular campus.

I wanted to choose computer science but it was not available at that time as I was very late for admission so I chose Electronics and communication. The faculty was average. Some were having their masters and others had PhD degrees but speciality teachers were very less they were told to teach any subject irrespective of their knowledge in that subject. Term exams happened every six months and it was not that difficult to pass as MST was conducted every two months for the preparation of term exams.

The placements are good in the college as lots of companies visit the college so are very good and some are average but most companies come for CSE course so electronics student have to study for programming to get the job. Students are eligible for the placement process from 7 sem onwards. The highest package was offered by Amazon which was around 30 Lac and the average package is around 3 LPA.

The annual fee of the course was 90000 which was fixed for every year. Hostel fees were around 80000 which they increased every year. There was no option of a campus job with a stipend. Financial Assistance was given by the PSU banks as they were also present at the time of admission.

Annual fest named "Parivartan" happens in the Winters. Course level fest also takes place every six months. Social life was good people from different states also takes admission here which gives the diversity to the college. The library is also average and it's not 24 hour library. Basic amenities were present in the classroom like a fan, projectors and desks were pretty good. The feel of the classroom was good. Every year there was some sports tournament intercollege, Intra college but they were limited to some sports.

Hostels were different depending on the budget of students, they have 2-bed,3-bed,4-bed rooms as well but it is depending on the budget.2-bed rooms were the most costly with around 120000 per year at that time which must have increased as they increase hostel fees every year. Hostel meal was poor or students got bored of it.3-time complete meal is given to students and 1 time evening snacks is provided. PG rents are around 9-10k with food.
