Remarks

I was aiming for the subject Geology thus I had very less options in case of colleges. Xaviers was my first preference. I had availed the admission in Christian Minority Quota. I got my name in the very first merit list. Very easy and was clearly instructed step-by-step through email throughout the admission process. I made sure that I kept checking the Official website for any further instructions. I was then called in for a short interview along with my parents in a particular date and time. They asked me my reason for choosing that subject then confirmed my admission. They confirm the admission in the ascending order of your percentage. The minimum cut-off is different for each merit list.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Being Xavier's student means you will always be surrounded by tight deadlines and tests keeping you quite busy. It is very important that you score well in these tests as it makes it easier in the final sem exams. The teachers are very knowledgeable, ever ready to help you unless you create a mess. The teachers teach through ppts, and books, sometimes they use props, rock/mineral samples, maps, etc to teach practically. Make sure you make full use of the library.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees are quite affordable for a common middle-class person. I don't have much idea about the college giving financial assistance for yearly fees but once I was not able to afford the amount required for the fieldwork. The teachers thus instructed me to apply for financial assistance from the college. I received my assistance from there.

Campus Life

4.5

Malhar!!! Name it and there begins the excitement! The second most famous fest after Mood Indigo is a very good exposure to explore your social skills. Apart from Malhar, there are many other departmental fests. The sports sector needs to improve more. There are groups for religious minorities, language learning labs, social service department, music, etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

The first year curriculum connects SSC and HSC syllabus making easier to approach further. The course can be divided into two as aspects of application and academic first the general theory course of animals including phylum study and the another goes with lab work techniques making it suitable for higher studying in both lab and field work. The three year course must be provided with free subject choice as per the new education policy (no compulsion for physics and chemistry) Slight improvement in planning feel experience in field tours and outcomes. Do mostly well planned but sometime the exam schedule of different subject choices students in first and second year of course can make a difficult for on time study required before exam.
