Remarks

It is one of the best college of silchar and the teaching and non teaching staffs are very helping . Moreover it is my home town and it is under central university and 75% attendence is must . Economics ,english ,zoology department of our college is very good and every year it gives an excellent result . Biotechnology dept is semi private

Course Curriculum Overview

student ratio of our course is 25-30 and our teaching faculty are very good and some are doctorate degree holders .Morever they are very helping .Bad aspect is that timing of exams is quite bad. passing the exam is not tough though

Yess i have opted for internship but not under my college but yess the college provide various paper or project or field work

The main bad aspect of the college is it doesnt provide placement jobs .Plan after completing the course you either go for higher studies or just apply for govt jobs or interviews.There is Assam university you can apply for higher courses

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is quite expensive for biotechnology as it is private dept but other courses fee structure is quite good and the bad aspects is that the college doesnt provide campus selection .You can get scholarships or financial assistance in the college

Campus Life

Yess the campus life is very good in our college also you can join rotary club of gc college and every year there is mass freshers or teachers day and utsavs and specially saraswati puja is famous in our college

Hostel Facilities

No i didnt opt for hostel as the college is in my hometown .But as i know the hostel is good and also there are severals PG and hostels outside college they are good actually and the college is in the heart of city so it is also safe for students

Admission

No admission criteria is on merit basis so there is no GD or PI in our college but the percentage is quite high in our college .Percentage is high for zoology economics chemistry english departments

Placements are very good enough.Eligible from 7th semester.For 2023 The average package was 9.82 LPA for our branch and the highest was 45.5 LPA. More than 150 companies visited the campus that year. The placement percentage was about 88 percent. In case I am not placed, I will pursue masters from Germany

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a central institute so it follows the curriculum of MBBS accordingly. It is an autonomous institution so plans things accordingly. There are postings in hospital in each and every clinical and para clinical subjects so it gives a very good approach for patient interaction. Also there is internship for one year so it'll be very helpful for real life experience. As there are tutorials which are taken in a theoretical way...I'll say to make it more practical approach like dividing in group and bed side teaching. Exams are taken as and when needed which is good in a way to prepare for the finals but the syllabus should be divided appropriately.

Ambiance of learning with fun and joy

Remarks:

There is no bad remarks for my college. It is a very good college with effective management who takes right decision at right time for success and development of the college. The management representatives are very co-operative and for them the infrastructure of the college and hostels had improved progressively every year. The library have most of the books required for the college syllabus which is also for the good management.

Life at G.C College, Silchar

Apart from this college I also applied to Assam University, Silchar but the campus is too far from my home and Gurucharan college, Silchar is nearer to my home and due to that I chose my current college. To get admission in Gurucharan college, Silchar, you need to apply at samarth portal of Assam government first then after fullfilling all the procedures you can go to college website and take admission to in any of the desired course and if you missed the chance, at the end of July if seats are still unfilled the college starts an on-spot admission process where you have to visit college and on the basis of first come first admit they start admitting students until seats are fulfilled.
